Default NEW MEMEBER looking at BUYING

I work at a dealership, we have taken in a scoob (will be) and I have a chance at owning it.

The owner is potentially a member on here but its a wrx sti 2.5T 07 hawkeye with 15k on the clock. supposedly mint with 400hp

Presumably, it has the corresponding modifications to get there and on that basis with 3 previous owners what should I expect to pay?

I know that it has an aftermarket exhaust and fuel pump but I also know it has more modifications my manager couldnt remember

Any help will be appreciated, im new to the world of scoobs but it sounds like a good deal even if the engines are a little iffy.

(currently drive a 200sx so its not like im not used to it.)

If im honest I really dont know, and ill be finding out as everything ive read says it needs to be to get there. Piston ring lands seem to be the problem, even the pistons themselves.

Unfortunately I didnt get the chance to speak to the owner, only found out after, but everything that was said suggests hes done everything properly but there was no mention of forging so its a 50/50 on the front until I see a receipt.

otherwise its a type-uk with 3 gauge pod which lends me with some confidence - I heard mention of uprated brakes but dont know much more than that

I'm not saying a 2.5 can't get there because they can,but to happily live there is a different story altogether.SJ.

It sounds like its been looked after from what ive been told, eitherway what would someone look to pay for that. I need to know if im getting looked after or shafted. If im paying market average then I might as well keep looking!

what would you expect to pay on a forged vs a non forged (lets say the owner is rounding up from a safe non forged bhp figure to make it sound better than it is and therefore get more money for it)

Without seeing the car it's hard to tell and my guess would be as good as yours go and check in the sales section in here for a general idea and maybe pistonheads for the going rate of them.SJ.

my only worry would be is why part ex that kind of car when you get alot more private for it, most cars traded in have a problem with it.

How much did your dealership pay for it?

Ha, well cheers for the negative responses. Bought the car it isn't forged and I stole it from the dealership. And even better it has decent mods and the mileage is mot verified
