Default Black SUBARU boot letters

Anyone got any idea where I could get this for my car?

See it on a few tubed American cars and really like the look

As above plastidip or paint them gloss black - easily achieved with a rattle can and a bit of patience!

I'd say use aerosol plasti dip too on your existing letters, they could well be plasti dipped on the above photo.

Plastidip is what I used on my classic, cheap and ridiculously
easy to do.

Trick with the rattle cans is to keep the can warm and apply it in several coats, I did about 6-7 coats and it worked perfectly. No need to mask it off as the over spray peels off clean leaving perfect edges

Just make sure you get genuine plasti dip as the knock
offs are very low quality.

That was my first play with the stuff and was amazed at the ease
and finish.

So with plasti dip you can paint it straight onto the badges on the car and on the paintwork and it won't affect the paintwork?
Is that right?
If so how do you get it off the car and keep it on the letters lol
Sorry for thread hijack and all questions but I really like the look of that.

Did the front badge on my car, looks spot on and has lasted ages. It gives it like a rubbery texture would highly recommend it for stuff like this.

As far as I know and have read it doesn't affect paintwork, the Americans have
been painting whole cars with it for a couple of years.

After you have sprayed your letters for instance you simply peel off the dip
from the areas it's not needed and where body meets letters it will tear along
the underside of the letter as because its a liquid rubber it kind of flows around
the letters if that makes sense.

YouTube is full of demos and how to's but it really is stupidly easy.

My classic mirrors before...

And after plasti dip...

Also before you use plasti dip make sure you clean what you want to dip
thoroughly, I washed dried and then wipe over with a alcohol wipe.

I used a wood toothpick as its soft enough not to scratch
the paint and just scraped up a piece of dip and pulled it out.

Thanks for all the advise, ordered some today
Do you need to still key the surface or just clean it as mentioned?
Thanks

Absolutely no need to 'key' the surface just make sure
it's clean and dry.

If you do **** it up (which you wont)just peel off and start again, simples.
