I'd go with the roof bars personally. A badly fitted rear rack can do quite a lot of damage to paintwork etc. Only exception is the type that fits on a tow bar.

Yea I'd go for roof bars in your position also. Though personally I'm pleased mine has fold down rear seats, just me but wouldn't feel comfortable with the bike on the roof or massively on a rack, prefer having it inside the car lol

Roof bars all the way. My classic, with genuine Scoob roof bars, bought off here, and four bike racks on it, three cheap French supermarket and one Thule front-wheel-out job, never batted an eyelid.
In fact it once did nearly 120 on a private track with all four on.........
Boot/tailgate racks are reckoned by Which? to be the worst for fuel consumption, and both those and the towbar mounted ones restrict boot access when in place.
One tip: if using racks where the bike stands upright, it makes the bike much more secure if you zip-tie the front wheel to both sides of the strut that holds the down-tube. The front wheel can't move then, and the fit is solid.
To get four bikes on mine I had to remove pedals and also turn the handlebars through 90 degrees.
