Default Flappy Car, No its not an app.

Evening fellas,

Finally got round to fitting flaps, not sure I like the look but I cant deny they are very practical.

Really easy job took about 30 mins, I sprayed a coat of lacquer over the decals I'm hoping they will last.

Thought id share some pictures along with some reflection pictures I took a while back.

They are Bridgestone Potenza RE070. Fantastic tyre, and were designed in 17" form just for Blobs at the time, still fitted to Hawk STi's when new too.

The only other factory fit for these that I'm aware of is the bigger version for the Nissan GTR.

I love these tyres, got them on my Spec D. They have firm yet comfortable walls, nice grippy compound that really gets warm in the summer / dry.

Can be a bit noisy at 80 mph, but who cares. The tread pattern is on the brink of just road legal I've heard, as they have a track appearance to them.

Camskill do them for approx £90 delivered I think, well worth the money.

Thats right, RE070 Potenza.

As they were designed for this model and fitted as standard by Subaru I couldn't help but think there was no point looking at other options.

They are cheap as chips (relatively speaking) from camskill.

While I'm on here does anyone know where I can order a new STI decal for my door? or is it a Subaru direct thing? (I did have a look on fleabay)

I made the mistake of trying Toyo T1R's. What a bad move that was!

Great tyre for a lot of cars I'm sure, and the lighter classics etc, but newage? Forget it!!!

Oh dear, yea they are good semi budget tyres for lightweight cars, not an area I would try and save money on tho.

Hawkeye, just checking out some of your posts looks like you've gotten into the detailing side of it too.

What pads and compounds did you go with in the end?

I'm using a DAS6 pro with microfibre pads and Menzerna (SF4000,FG400) really really enjoy doing it, so far I have done the wings and the bonnet and I am currently waiting for better weather before doing the rest of the car.

I use a hexlogic to apply chemical guys wet mirror finish before applying jetseal109 on top of that.

I've never used collinite before but will have a go with some of that this year over the top of the jetseal.

I've got the Megs pads and compound, and will finish with Poorboys polish, then hand finish with Dodo juice Supernatural.

Sadly not had the weather to use any of it yet, so I can't comment on any of the products.

I don't have access to a garage which is a real shame. My Passat will get hit with the DA aswell, but it's still a waiting game for all this rain to stop.

I'd also like to get into a mobile detailing service, my own venture, but I've not had any DA experience yet!

Your's looks very nice indeed by the way.
Bodski on here is the man, he's said that Menzerna is good and I think he uses Hexlogic pads too.
