Im not all that familiar with ECU Tek, but would there not be a database with all known cars/ecus on record if it has been mapped by a ECUtek lic, failing that you could call the "local area" mappers from where the car is located and ask.

My first question though is why are you asking, are you looking to buy this car and require a little background check? Cant you just ask for proof, or whom and then ask if this mapper mapped this car?

Mate has bought it locally from a dealer, previous owner imported it from uk.
Just wanting some info on it, not even sure where it came from originally apart from uk.
I know it was an SIDC show winning car at some point.

You can get in touch with previous owner stated on log book or most obvious is getting in touch with those on SIDC

Previous local owner not giving info & uk owner not on local log book as classed as import.
SIDC you need to be a paid member to post now.

Fair comment but if your mate wants the info SIDC is the best place, doesn't want to join can't be too fussed about the info. Fair play, no harm in asking on here but if I want fuel I go to a petrol station not a bakery
