In terms of oil, it depends on the model of Impreza you have. If it's the 'classic' then go no thinner than a good quality 10/40 semi or full synthetic.
The 'newage' engine is generally fine on a 5/40 synthetic but most on here prefer a 10/40 or if the engine is producing substantially more power than standard, 10/50
Aftermarket oil filters are fine as long as you get a known brand eg Blueprint, Crossland etc
Be sure to fill the filter with oil before installing and maybe disconnect the crank sensor and spin the engine on the starter to prime the oil galleries before firing up.

we do 1ltr, 5ltr, 20ltr, 25ltr, 60ltr, etc. etc........wholesale, trade & retail
always have high quality OE filters on the shelf complete with sump washers, etc. and freely give the 'correct' advice for your specific age/model/use/mods

You'll get a lot of different answers to this question. Speak to AS performance and he will advise and explain to you what's best for your car. I use 10w50 in my classic with 106k miles on the clock but that's just me. (I think most people phone him)
