British Army Rally Team - Team Voodoo
Hi All
I thought that i would right a quick thread about what i've been up to and my plans for this year.
In August last year I passed my National B Rally License and straight away it was full steam ahead to get started.
I started searching for a decent car, after owning a few different imprezas over the years it was always going to be a scooby.
After spending ages looking at different ones i can across a nice spec Impreza GC8 Type RA Rally car which was not far off what i wanted. I put a deposit down straight away and took delivery a couple of weeks later.

The car was taken to Adgespeed in Irlam, Manchester to be checked over, got to recommend Adge to anyone in the area, mega friendly and great service! -

The car got a clean bill of health except for a couple of bits..
Geometry setup
The gearbox had a small leak of oil
MOT only had 2 months left so would need a new one
all in all not to much needed doing
Seats and seatbelts were out of date so thanks to Demon tweeks we got a good deal on a new set of both.
I'm serving in the Army and I roped in the help of a few friends and called ourselves TEAM VOODOO
Driver - Sgt James Hallam
Co-Driver(s) - Keith Jones/Capt Chris Hallam
Mechanic - Cpl Harry Black
It still needs a bit of work but here is our website - www.teamvoodoo.co.uk
I wanted to represent a charity whilst competing especially a service charity so I contacted the Royal British Legion and asked if they would like to have their logo on the side of the car. They have jumped at the chance, although the person i'm dealing with is away and i'm still waiting for the design they want on the car.
I next looked for a couple of sponsors that wanted to advertise on the car. I came across a company called Circusmedia who deal in Pay Per Click advertising via Google searchs and they have been very gererous and i couldn't have got this far without their support. www.circusmedia.co.uk
The Army doesn't have its own Rally championship and after speaking to a couple of friends in the RAF was pointed in the direction of Spookworks, the Gravel factory and Force D and decided to register for the RAF Rally Championship 2014
We will be competing in the following Rally's this year
17th MAY 14 - Cetus Stages - Three Sisters
3rd AUG 14 - Jane Cowling Memorial Rally - Fulbeck Airfield
12th OCT 14 - Adgespeed Stages - Three Sisters Racetrack
6th-7th DEC 14 - Rockingham Stages - Rockingham Raceway
I also hope to attend the Festival of Army Motorsport this year.
We also have a facebook page and twitter and we welcome any support
