I went from the same as you to a prodrive back box section. Definitely Louder but still quite subtle at low revs. Can pick them up for around £100 mark. Hth

I'd certainly recommend a used Prodrive/Scorpion backbox for your budget, had one one each of my wrx's.

Or a new cobrasport backbox, but in the same subtle style as the Prodrive.

I had the Prodrive on mine when I bought it and the previous owner had removed the centre box and it wasn't very loud at all. I guess it all depends how loud and how often you drive the car. I now have the vortex on mine which some say is too loud but with the windows closed I think its fine, just a nice burble. with windows down it sounds great and can be got at a good price

What about STIWR1 above? he's selling one. The prodrive rear box is a good step-up from the standard pea shooters. This is the route I took and really pleased with it.
