Default Nur Spec S

I was just wondering if many people actually run a spec S? as the don't seem as common as the spec R and I don't see any up for sale very often.

I had one on my Wagon, I used to love it when I had it but now looking back, in hindsight I think it was ludicrously loud - I was definately the neighbours "favourite", especially with the odd 6.30am start.

It got even more ridiculous when the missus told me my daughter shouts dad dad dad!! every time she heard me coming home from about a mile up the street.

Can't even begin to imagine what a R sounds like.

I was thinking about getting 1 for that reason, I wouldn't need to change the centre section, only the backbox., but I can't find any second head 1s for sale.

I know exactly what you mean mate, it was a slimier thing with me when I had an afterburner vortex straight though system on 1 of my old scoobs, the misses could hear me a 1/2 mile away lol.

The "S" is still 3" only tapers down to 2.5" and the join.
I choose the "S" as it's just the back box, the "R" has the centre section too, all be it in full 3", so sound wise would there be anything in it? I don't think there would.

I run the S on my STi with the standard centre section. It's loud, but not as loud as the R.

Not long after I got it it we had two identical cars, one with the R and mine with the S, there was a noticeable difference in volume.

Well at the moment I'm running a Ninja 2 back box and H+S centre section on my classic, but it's just not to my taste and want a bit more noise.

I have the H&S centre with the Spec-S, this will give you more noise, and I still don't think its too bad either, even on a run motorway run.

Fingers crossed for you then....you never know.
Because the S mates up nicely with the standard system, it's a perfect match, so don't up for sale much.....the R on the other hand is a system thats no holds bard, owners think it's too loud, and sell it on.
S is the way to go I recon.

Not this owner.

Forget how long the R has been on my car, would need to check the receipt. Since 2007 IIRC.

I had the spec r and my mate had the spec s both full decat on both cars there was no difference in loudness although we didn't use any sound measuring devices, when we went to visit our friends on separate times they all couldn't tell who was who by the exhaust sound and they were both extremely loud

Try it with no absolutely nothing in the boot, no rear seats and no carpet fitted. Then it's loud. Mines like that and it's a daily driver.

I got the Spec-S on my Hawk WRX and its not stupidly loud just subtle. Recently replaced the centre pipe for a de-res one and its made it slightly noisier but no excessive so on a gentle cruise is pleasant but makes you grin when you plant the right foot
