Default DIY rotated turbo kit!.

Evening all, after fitting a td06 20g billet from John @ BRD developments I had it mapped 2 sats ago with Martyn @ ENGINETUNER and made 410 on v power with a blowing manifold.
So while the turbo was off to sort the blow we thought we would rotate the turbo for a bit of fun and make it more efficient with a shorter/ less restrictive bend inlet track etc.
I had 2 flanges made by a friend at an engineers and then we cut/ welded the pipe and made an rotated adaptor and downpipe etc.
Then yest morning I went to see Chris Yates @ RAMAIR local to me and he made me up a new inlet track and big filter ready for mapping next sat.
Here is a few pics of it.
Many thanks Chris

I was never happy with the angle the inlet pipe meets the turbo on the newage aswell so that was another reason to rotate.
This was how the inlet pipe did meet the turbo and surely there is room for improvement.
Cheers

Was it worth the hassle? When does it reach full boost?

I remember years ago when Andy mapped my old classic on a tdo 20g turbo and it made full boost by 3400rpm and I think that was 1.6bar?

Am I wrong in thinking that dp would be as standard/decat?

To be fair we fancied making it rotated for a bit of fun as just enjoy making and playing with the car and cost peanuts for parts with drawing in favours.
I use a workshop on a farm where I go shooting and there is nearly every tool available to man there for metal etc.
The up pipe is the same as it's a bolt in adaptor and just the downpipe we had to modify.

If it goes as well as it looks, it should be a cracker IMO.

What did you gain power/spool wise?

Around 30hp/30lbs and full boost by early 3000's. That was the vf43 rotated with custom downpipe, twin scroll headers and twin to single up pipe.

Figures now are 401hp/439lbs

Got any power graphs, more info??? 401hp/439lbs not to be sniffed at, I love the way my VF43 spools up on my 2.5, which made 377bhp/412lb/ft but would love to hit the magic 400bhp mark without spending 000's on a bigger/billet turbo(for the time being)!!!

Aye mine was making 372/409 on ported headers before going to the rotated set up. No graphs as Andy Forrest had issues on the day trying to print them. I'll email him and see if he can email them across

Just for a bit of info peeps, a few months a go prior to the to rotating and billet td06 I was running a ported vf43 that Martyn @ ET mapped.
I had a v power and 20% meth map.
Here are the graphs

It made for an epic fast road car, but I mainly use the car for track days and even on the meth map it felt the turbo just ran out of puff at the top end and when you were changing gears at the red line, the revs never drop below 5500/6k so you missed where peak torque/power was so wanted a tuebo with more top end.
Thanks Chris

Evening all,
Yeah went for mapping today had some pretty good results,
Other day with the turbo it made 410/390 @ 1.7 bar peak and hold 1.5 with blowing mani.
The tubular headers I have are holding it back but still awesome.
It makes 1.6 peak and holds 1.4 so running less boost aswell so still room for more and turbo can do 1.8 with the flow from better headers.
When it comes on boost it hits so hard on spool.
This is the graph.
Torque is pretty out there
