Default Advice on this car...

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...xperiment=true

I previously had a 2005 Blob STI and am looking for the same again. I do prefer the front end of the Hawk but the 2.5 issues scare me senseless.

I notice this particular car has Cosworth head gaskets, will that go some way to preventing any issue of the 2.5 running at 360BHP or are the preventative measures far more involved and expensive?

Likewise, any opinion in general on this car? Anyone know it?

As much as I like the Hawks, I just couldnt stomach driving around in one waiting for the engine to go pop and pay upwards of £3K for the pleasure of repairing.

it looks nice but its not just the head-gaskets that are a weakness in the 2.5 its the pistons aswell

id get full details of engine work, unless it has been rebuilt with forged pistons i wouldnt bother as these are also an issue on the 2.5.

the car does look nice, a little like big foot with those wheels though.
