Role up !! Kames double header 27-28/7/02
#1
Ok boys and girls, who is up for some fun next month.
We are going to stage a double header on the sprint circuit.
We will be running the track in one direction on the Saturday and the reverse direction on the Sunday.
Timed as ussual by Stan. The plan this time is to divide drivers into groups so, as one group plays, the others can relax. Saves waiting in queues.
Assuming we have reasonable numbers (participants and Spectators) the Cafe will also be open.
A barbeque is planned for the evening on Saturday night and also running an Autotest and some other activities.
This will give those of you who don't fancy going out on the track an excuse to have some fun round a timed course set out in cones (expect to be thrashed by the Elises).
There is also a pub in the caravan park 200 yrds away or we will have a party on site on a BYOB basis.
Trying to think of other fun things to do so any suggestions will be welcome.
I personnaly intend camping on site. If you don't fancy that, there is a single static caravan at the site that can sleep 6-8 depending on how intimate you are .
The Coach house pub at the bottom of the road has two rooms and there are other B&Bs in the area. I'll be getting what details I can on the accomodation.
I'm afraid because catering etc has to be sorted then the arrangement will need to be a bit more formal than the usual 'turn up and run'.
Cost will be £40 for the two days and I will probably be asking for a deposit of £10 for any participants.
This should be huge fun.....especially the drinking games, so add you names to the list !!

I am still there! Wondered why it was quiet on track, thought it was just the rain keeping you off the track. Didn't realise you had all gone home.
Yes, I will be up for the double header. Hopefully will make both days. Don't get back from London till the early hours of Saturday morning, but hope to keep up my record of being first on track. Will probably camp overnight along with my three year old, Skye. So probably won't get as many runs on track as usual but looking forward to a good weekend.
Cheers Iain

Guys the list is building nicely. As this is going to limited to a fixed number of places better let us know sooner than later if you want to participate. If you also intend to attend as a spectator I would be obliged if you would let johnS or I know so the Cafe can adjust catering quantities to suit !!
cheers---john---
P.S. why do the Crail croud never attend...frightened of corners ?

For any newcomers who have not been to Kames before and would like to see what it is all about there is a competiton sprint running this sat and sun 22&23 June. Will also give one and all an opportunity to sample the cafe cooking.
There is an entrance fee either £2 or £3 per person, but that gives you access to all areas except the track during the competition.

I've just e-mailed everyone that I understand is attending Kames, (using the track or not). If you didn't receive an e-mail I don't think you are attending, can you let me know of you intentions (spectating or using track), track places are almost gone.
