No cars quicker But an R1 was doing 10.9 !
Apparently Davy Jones's 1000bhp JUN Skyline was there on Thursday filming with Jeremy Clarkston and done a 10.4
Willie said there were flames coming from it's brakes at one point !
Next one in 2 weeks, big magazine attendance too so it will be busy !

Dunno if I'll make that one. There is a Vauxhall day on at Santa Pod on the 23rd which will be good.
There was a dark blue Calibra at Crail yesterday that did a 13.18 and some 13.20's
Full tank of petrol and a slipping clutch tho

"He (Russs on here) mentioned a Supra, a GTi (who thought it was a 16v Cally ) and a grey Audi RS4 (which he beat)."
That's strange ! The times posted on the crail website show that the Audi RS4 beat the Calibra.......twice !!
That RS4 ran a 12.6 ! It was scoring well on the launches with a 1.677 60 foot but tiring a bit top end at 109 mph.

That was me in the RS4! A slipping clutch didn't help to much with the starts and then when racing against the black bike (on the run that I beat it ;-) ) I wrecked the synchro on my gearbox (not good) crunchy changes from 1st to 2nd.... gonna be expensive.
Was a good day tho, with lots of runs and fairly happy with the times but could be better.
Think I am going to get myself a dedicated track day car tho as the RS4 (as much as I love it) is too expensive to thrash about (ie £1300 for a set of tyres etc!)
By the way IIRC I beat the calibra on one of my worst runs all be it by .1 second.

Nice one Barry Bad news re the box. If it's any consolation, last year some of the scooby drivers done in more than one box in a season.
Just looked at your results on the Crail website, you done 37 runs on Sunday I'm surprised the box didn't get out and run away !!
What you thinking of getting for track use ?
Andy (White WRX RA)

Thoughts are...... Scooby not sure which models are best for sprint / track use tho.
Escos - looked at one today but it was a real hound.
Audi SWB Sport quattro - well quick and can be insured as a classic!
Supra Twin Turbo - nice
Basically I go to various track days and the RS4 is taking a bit of a pounding (and it ain't cheap!) so I wan't to buy something thats cheap enough to run / service / insure (RS4 modded to 465bhp and full no claims is £2.7k p.a!) and it would be good if I could buy something thatis ready mod'd to save me cash as I am spending a further fortune on a further upgrade to the RS4 to take it hopefully between 625 and 700bhp. (not cheap)

37 runs ?!?
*thud*
Gearbox probably did well if it was a standard RS4 as you were absolutely thrashing the standard 1/4 mile for that car (13.3 or something I think) so was probably giving it a hard time
Hope I can see what this thing of mine will do on Sunday at Santa Pod
Finally getting the unichip mapped with the boost increased and water injection mapped as well..... only been waiting 6 bloody months
Roll on Friday

I'ts been fully remapped by amd and has full milltek cat back exhaust with twin milltek 100cell sports cats and milltek downpipes.
Still to come is (just waiting on the turbos)
Drilled AP Racing brakes
Custom APR Remap
Twin hybrid custome rebored and strengthened turbos
H&R Coilovers
Mitch at APR reckons it should be good for 625-700bhp ish!
Marvelous!

yeah i have and the 1/4 mile times it sets are mad- does it not do 60 in under 4 secs
as for the "real" $wd system well yeh it can be a bit unerving as the you feel the power lurch to the rear- at the mo there is a noticable delay in getting the power down- ie wheelspin and then woah!!!

Hey, that Calibra DID get over the line in front of you - until yesterday (cheers Andy!) I didn't realise your time was marginally quicker though.
Better work on your reaction times old chap
Very nice machine though - 465 bhp, very impressive.
Love the way it launches.
Incidentally, I was launching mine on the lowest boost setting 'cos my (standard) clutch couldn't cope.
You'll see my 60ft times were crap. Gonna be a whole lot quicker when I change that clutch...........
