Edited to delete info... just in case someone fancied torching his house at the gastronomical bill they just received following their scoobs service!!!!!
Tongue firmly in cheek as I'm always happy with Nobles work... if a bit pricey.

I used to use them for servicing since they were ~£50 cheaper than T&C for a major service. The servicing prices are shown on their website:

http://www.dealer.autotrader.co.uk/_...ble2frame8.htm

They were also happy to do a deal when I had the MOT, body service and extended the warranty all at the same time.

Always did a good job, never had any problems and they would either offer a loan car or collect from work/home on a flat bed truck. Claire & Robert in the service dept were always very helpful. Colin takes a bit of getting used to mind!

Question

Anyone know of a good/reliable tyre fitter in the Edinburgh area who won't come out with the 'sorry mate we only fit the tyres we supply' line....?

Thanks in advance

If you fancy a little run go to Jim Dickson in Cumbernauld Village.

Avoid ATS at Corstorphine as they are all toothless and inbred IMHO. Kwick Fit at Murryfield were the only people that could successfully balance the VTS's centerless wheels and were generally ok, they are also open till 8 at night which is useful for us working types.

Some branches of kwik-fit say they'll fit non supplied tyres and others say no..! Plus they wrecked an alloy of a cavalier I had!!

May pay that visit to Cumernauld Village..

Thanks to you both

Swift Tyres in Whitburn are very good.

I've used them several times to purchase new Toyo's or swap around track tyres. I think they charge about £5/tyre to fit and balance.

Call John or Jim on 01501 741548.

Cool

Hi Si,

There's a place at Sighthill that fitted my F1's a few months back. Nice guy. He also does 4 wheel alignment which is well worth the cash imho.
Just up the road from Pentland Components (it's a 3 letter company name, but I can't remember it).
Can't remember what he charged, but it was reasonable.

Autoimage in Fountainbridge fitted some for me once too, but it was a while ago so best to call first.

HTH

Dave
p.s. Still no cash for the bike, so feel free to put it up here for a sale

Thanks Kart-man

Ironically found that Hays in Penicuik fit them so will go to them as they tend to take quite a bit of care and always 'fine balance' the wheels if asked...Toyos being delivered tomorrow so looking forward to getting rid of these SO3's...!!

Re the bike......absolutely no rush at all. It's getting very little use at the moment so whenever you get the cash and if you're still interested then drop me a line and I'm 100% sure it will still be there.

Thanks for the fitting advice anyway..

Isn't Hays now owned by Nobles?

I think the Nobles servicing dept was once Hays.

Yeh they are one in the same but I know one of the guys there who has an imported WRX and he tends to take a bit or care with the alloys

Cheers

Wasn't questioning Hays or Nobles.

Never had any problems with the servicing dept, apart from once when I came into the pits at Knockhill and found Colin Noble grinning at me!

That'll be the thought of the extra cash to help him build his new house.......

When you see that it makes you realise where your extortionate hourly labour rate goes...!

It's okay I saw your post before you changed it!

Getting a bit fed up with Colin always winning the Legends at Knockhill. Even if he starts at the back!

Not got an invoice to hand but roughly appears to be between £45-50..
This is a 'guesstimate' as all invoices are at home but if you want I can drop you an e-mail of recent work done....with total cost.

Thanks guys,

I've always heard good things about them, just curious what kind of money the charge. I've got a couple of services due pretty soon so I'll check out the link later
