Welcome!
Recommend the same as Miles; get a stainless exhaust, removing cat (but keep them for the MoT and swap them over) and an air filter too (ITG, Blitz, HKS...)
If your budget can stretch, get your ECU remapped to take advantage of the mods too.

If you want 300 brake, a good place to start would be brakes.
AP, Brembo, Godspeed coversions are some of the popular choices.
You've got the 4 pot calipers, so the Godspeed conversion would be the cheapest, but that doesn't mean the worst.
Again, full stainless steal exhaust stystem would be advisable. They come in the form of a 2.5 inch diameter straight through, to 3.0 inch diameter straight through, and there may even be bigger systems available now.
To get to 300 bhp you may have to change the turbo, ECU and intercooler. Have a look at some of the dyno pages in scoobynet, or on the Power Engineering web site to compair mods

Hello
I was in the same position as you last year and am now just getting things done that I wanted. The scoobysport back box and downpipe I have on now sound great and would go for something along those lines ( All brands seem on a par ). I've changed the standard air filter for a K&N panel and got rid of all the orange indicator's + wedges.
not a hugely modded car by any standards but I enjoy it.
Craig.
