Fuel in Inverness and further north to Orkney
#2
There are a couple of Esso petrol stations in Inverness which sell Super. There's also the Shell in Contin (though this is a few miles out of the direct route), and also one in a village just off the A9 (can't remember the name just now).
If you fill up there, you'll easily get to the Northern coast on about half a tank. Don't think there are any on Orkney itself, but there should be a plentiful supply of normal unleaded fuel. If your car has to be run on Super, then just take a bottle of Octane booster with you, or simply run the car on normal unleaded, but don't overly push the engine.
If you have a UK spec car, then just run it on normal unleaded and dno't worry about it

I think he's on about Beauly for the little village! There is no super available further North than this though (about 115 miles from Gills) so it would have to be octane booster with half decent unleaded (BP, Shell etc take your pick there's loads in Thurso and Wick). Plenty of normal also available on Orkney as well but advise filling up in Inverness with super as it's 78.9p compared to 83.9 for NORMAL unleaded in Thurso and Wick.
