Question

Got a mate with a MY00 and he is looking for an old used set of standard pads, that he can stick in prior to a service. Anyone in Aberdeen area got an old set kicking around the garage floor?

I have a set, but they are for 2 pot calipers, MY00 would be 4 pots I think.

Yep, MY00 have the 4 pot calipers. Sorry don't have anything available - if you are really stuck give Gav Wallace in Kenmay a call on 01467 643954. He's fairly reasonable costwise for parts and will probably have 'em in stock.

Question

Why does he need standard pads in for its service?

Does this void the warrenty?

Ask no questions and I’ll tell you no lies...

But suffice to say the MY99/00 cars are prone to cracked disc’s under hard use... I had a replacement set on my MY99 wagon before I upgraded the disc's myself.

Jools,

I might have an old set of standard pads in a box at work, I can have a look tomorrow if your mate still needs them.

I can't actually remember if the pads were binned or if I kept em, I know there is definately a cardboard box with the disks in it.

If Stuart hasn't got his still then I definetly have a set at work off my MY00 though they are 90% worn.

Stuart, Duncan,

Any joy with locating old pads? I'm back in Copenhagen right now, but will pass on the info via e-mail if you can help this fellow out.

Cheers,
Jools.

Talking

Jools,

I've found my old pads, full set with about 6-7mm of material left. Not 100% sure if they are OEM as I bought them used (with disks and callipers).

Tell your mate to give me a shout on the e-mail if he needs em.

Stuart
