Knockhill - Saturday 28th September
#1
This event is definitely going ahead, as I'm confident that all those who said they will come will be able to do so, and we'll get close to breaking even
4 hours open pit lane on Scotland's finest tarmac circuit from 9am to 1pm for only £65 (SIDC member, or £70 (guests and on-line bookings - small supplement to cover credit card charges).
All welcome, and plenty of spaces left.
This will be the last track event of the year (next one not until March/April next year!!!), so please book up at http://shop.sidc.co.uk now to avoid disappointment.
You can also pay by cheque if required, and I'll e-mail you a booking form on request, which you can return with a cheque.
As usual, we'll have a Knockhill instructor there to help out with any first timers, and strict track etiquette will be enforced with regards to overtaking, driving standards etc.
FYI, I believe Knockhill are running a Lotus only event on the Friday afternoon (27), for the same 4 hours, and the price is £99, so you can see how much of a bargain this is

Good stuff John,
Big red WILL be there m8.
Lookin forward 2 another blast and meeting some of the new faces.
And putting more names 2 faces.
To any1 that is considering doing a track day I can highly recommend the SIDC events. I did my 1st one in the scoob back in July this year and the track manners were excelent, was a bit apprehensive at first but after the last 1 i`m hooked
Mutual respect from all drivers irrespective of what they`re driving and every1 playing by the rules (no overtaking on the right). Hope 2 c a good few virgins out there as well as all the usual vets.
C`mon u know u wanna Where else u gonna be able 2 open it up without looking over u r shoulder for mr. plod

I only recognised one of the instructors from last weekend.
Anyway, this time around they sit at the passenger side, and just give you tips on where to brake, where to turn in, when to accelerate etc. They start you off reasonably gently, and build you up over a number of laps until they are confident you are driving smoothly and safely.
Most of the time it's best to use them for 5 or 6 laps, go out for a while on your own and then grab them again towards the end of the session, where you'll smooth off any rough edges.
