Question

Thinking about applying for a Mech Tech post on the Bruce (bp), anyone been there? Is it a good platform?

Thumbs up

I work for BP and they enter our pipeline to G/mouth. Its a fairly sized platform now, having went through a big expansion project in the last 2-3 years. I don't know the lifespan of Bruce but could try & find out for you. I applied for a posting there too but I can't be released from my asset.

Caz
I think the life is fairly good, as part of the north sea transformation it's now in the developing assets.

i have the unfortunate luck to work on the bruce and have done since december 02, the food is ok but it all depends on who you get as camp boss on your trip, the facilities for when your off shift are excellent with plenty to do, personell wise it seems to have a lot of office staff on board who try to justify their selves. the over all condition of the platform is ok but its starting to show its age now, maintenance gets done eventually but it all seems to go on cost rather that what needs done ( but what rig doesnt now). the platform seems to run quite good but that mite change soon when the oil production goes into decline very soon.
