Was just wondering if anyone out there has one of the new cars and what they think of it. Tempted to re-enter the frame after a year of a Golf GTI 150 Diesel. Miss the sound of the flat four and good handling. What's the general opinion out there on the new car?

Handling a little firmer.

Feels as fast as classic shape - so drop when bugeye came out has been addressed.

Seats not quite as snug as before.

Speedo on right rather than centre- so back street drivers can't see speed. Bonnet vent looks even better.

Ordered mine in WR Blue. Gets delivered at the end of the month.

 

Does anyone reckon the spoiler on the standard one looks
a tad naff ? Nice wheels though and the revised lights are
better. They seem to be a lot quiter compared with the classic
too . They give less (but still significant)of kick when the turbo cuts in too(IMAO)

Got mine a week ago now and yes a much better car all round. Forget the flat four burbblllee, Cos it aint there, Well not from inside the car.
The build quality is light years away from old scooby classics.

IMHO the car is no quicker than a classic, and you kinda lose the turbo surge that the classic had.
The car is very smooth to smooth if you know what i mean.

I feel the ppp is a must on the 03 wrx just to get that surge back,
having said all that it is indeed an improved car 100%.
