Location - Tickled Trout near Bearsden.
Time - 1900 hrs
Date - Tuesday 06 May

Next to Dobies garden centre (formerly Findlay Clarks). Only 5 miles north of Glasgow at the roundabout where the A879 the B8049 and the A807 all meet. For those of you at the last meet, it was the pub that we drove to.

Hope to see you all there.

Cheers
John

Callum,

I know what u r saying mate, but Im trying to get a pattern going (first Tues of every Month)with the meets so that everyone knows where they stand with them.

Sometimes the holiday Mondays might not suit everyone as they might go away for a break with their families or friends etc.

However, if u guys wanna change the one in May to the Hol Monday then I'm easy either way. Just post comments if this is the case,

Cheers John

Chris, thats cool mate. I'll e-mail u nearer the time and sort out where to meet u before driving through.

Moses....come on mate. Tuesdays aint that bad. There's rarely any footy on (those nights) at this time of year. Plus, like Chris I've heard ur evo is quite a machine.

Come on everyone in the area. These have been good nights so far. Keep it rolling and get yer name marked down as attending....

Sounds a good idea Chris. From the Tick Trout it aint that far up by the Carbeth inn, as suggested by Dougster and others in previous threads...

Numbers on here don't seem to be too great. I make a count of 5 cars so far plus Dougster on his Mountain bike!! Mind u I can keep pace with his 21 speed any time.

U know what it can be like on here though. People seem to be shy on putting comments in and on the day you get an extra 6 or so cars turning up... Come on folks.

I am also working on making it along. Need to see who else will convert over to the Light Side, Hey Chris :-)

A run towards Balloch sounds good. Wonder if Big Brother is monitoring this though.

Oh yeah, as Iain has just mentioned, just a note on some general joo joo thats going on south of the border that may effect our runs at some point.

Quoted from an Elise BBS.
I just wanted to inform everyone that Wiltshire police have been in touch with me regarding the Bristol Run, and have said that they have 10 Lotus Elises who have been ticketed on the A36 using a remote unit at between 86 and 70mph on a 60 zone. Basically, in short, could you all calm down a bit. This is from them, not me.

He knows it was an organised run, he does know who by, I think he assumed it was Southrun (it isnt). He also said that there were 8 others who exceeded 60 but fell below the threshold for fixed penalties.

His final statement was, Wiltshire Police will not tolerate speeding, and appologised if it wasnt organised by me.

The above has been eagerly debated recently with several people pointing out that it is highly possible our local police officers are monitoring popular car sites like this with intent to stop people braking the law.

Just a note of caution to say beware dodgy white vans and always stick to the speed limit.

I won't be able to make this one cos I'm working nights just now but if there's going to be a run involved I'd recommend discussing the route on the night rather than on the BBS that way they won't know what roads to target in advance. They could still turn up at the meet and snoop mind

Think a smokescreen is in order here folks. As mentioned by someone already, we will organise our route on the night. If we don't go towards Balloch we could head in any other direction along plenty of other quality routes....Keep em guessing and think of other destinations to be discussed on the night!

Happy Motoring!

Trance,

I need to get your phone number so that you can tell me when there is a swell marching its way down the East coast

That will give me time to get the surf board waxed up, shoved it in me WRX and off down the A1 to Pease Bay - lol

Won't be there.

Looks like a broken crank-shaft and big-end bearings will keep me out of action for a while longer!!

Will fit a new timing belt and get piston slap looked at while engines out.

The pulley is moving about so much the belt is jumping off the wheel!!!!!

Dougster - that sounds expensive mate. Hope it doesnt keep you off the road too long. If it makes you feel a bit better, i'm out of action at the minute. Almost lost my car to a major short circuit!!

good luck

Dougster, you aint avin much luck recently, sounds like a costly repair, i remeber my scoob costing £600 for a new pully tensioner/timing belt & crank shaft seals, also took bloody ages to get the parts, meaning the car was unusable for two weeks, ah, them were the days................................
