My mate has the best FTO in the country - you've probably all seen it and Knockie, Crail, JAE etc - flipped 6 colour, Veilside kit, NOS (100bhp jets), Toora 18's...and alot more.

At the weekend some guy in a blue bugeye with gold wheels was talking to him (he was a decent bloke according to Mark)......unfortunately he tried to overtake/pass Mark going up through Chapelhall/ Newhouse road, and try as he may he couldn't accelerate past him....and was slowly trailing behind. Mark thought his car was a UK model.

Come on, own up!? LOL!!

Come on.....who's the culprit.

This is becoming a legend at my work already.

Might also add the FTO has a slipping clutch

Jealousy is a terrible thing ladies.

Reckon it helps dispell the old FTO 'slow a ****' myth. So when you next see it remember this......its not all show, but GO too!

You have been warned.

And we may as well stick in the usual, how does it handle in the wet

You have to laugh at these 'Scooby gets beat by Modded Car threads' So what, if the scooby was modded itself it would have kicked the FTOs ar$e, and around we go again

Suppose now's not the time to tell you that he outbraked it as well?

I personally love the 'we beat a scooby' threads - as long as they aren't posted by EVO owners. Scooby's are not the best car on the road - only muppets believe they are. Straight line scooby performance is reasonably good, but we all know its the twisty bits is where its at.

As for the wet, and cornering.....well, I reckon you know the answer to that

.......the carrot continues to dangle for the donkey's out there LOL!!

LOL!! Yeah, I'm just chilling with my cuban cigar, feet up on the MD's desk, sipping on some port and reading a copy of 'the punter'.

drb5 - you've kinda lost me - defend their cars possibilities? The point of the thread is to find out who it was, and whether they'd be man enough to own up if on SN - I mean, come on how often do you hear of someone in an FTO beating a scoob (especially as the guy was trying like a bear)? It's written tongue in cheek unless you hadn't noticed. Sorry, yawning now....replied too long.....better go and take my siesta

I own a scooby as well, remember

Nah, I just thought Mark deserved credit for it. He says I'm next on his scalping list when I get my engine fixed - but that will not happen!! (I know he'll read this).

The guy was trying but just couldnt get past - maybe it was a turbo look-a-like ? Who knows.

I overtook my own scoob in my old punto - nobody believed me, but I did!! Only cause I cant drive 2 cars at once though.

BTW - Mark is a martial arts instructor, and come monday I'll be in plaster for the look-a-like comment hehe!!

och, i won't nock a motor that CAN go faster than a scoob. i know there are a H3LL of a lot more motors out there even faster than mine, but it comes down a lot to where it uses it's power

eg:scooby=off the mark
(from what i've heard)fiat turbo=past 100mph and above

besides, to get an fto to go that fast he has to have piled a lot of dough into it do that and i thinkm i'd have rather put that towards a scoob. but that's just me...f3ckin luv 'em!!!!

I'm gonna come up with the most interesting thread of the year - oh yeah and I'll see you on sunday M8

Silver 03 with pimp tints - huge driver - **** gets stuck between the seat sides. Probable because i'm 23 stone and my mates 20 stone - at least he's got an excuse - addicted bodybuilder.

I eat anything - keeps the wife happy anyway.

How's it going? Nice to meet you at last at Knockhill, bloody freezing that day!

I've got a question for you - When was the last time you used that cd changer? I've connected up but doesn't work, it stops the current cd playing or anything playing for that matter and just hangs. Also tried to get the changer out but all it does is the eject button flickers on and off..................

Can you get back to me please in case I've installed it wrong.

Thanks

Gordon Shek

Hi gordon nice to meet you too.

Had it in the last car - will look out my previous head unit instructions to tell you what I had it working with - but never had any probs - dont think it can be installed wrong - only a din connector for power and cd controls - is it an AI net head unit you are using ? - there is a small slider switch to change between this mode and standard mode if that helps - will find out more info if I can - still have your e-mail.

Mike

It's a CDA 7876RB head unit and the cd compatible chart says it's ok. It is a ai-net head unit according to all the web pages about it, not 100% sure though. Click here to check spec

Didn't know there was a switch at the side though, will check it out tonight.

BTW

Bet my 1000 BHP 4x4 Micra GTIR Quadruple Turbo with pimp tints will kick everyone's a$$, outbrake them, out corner them, out out them(can't think of anything else that I can out do them with), the lot, no probs!

Mike

Got it now, working a treat! Didn't realise that I was that stupid! Anyways, thanks for the free cd you left inside the changer, started off not bad but got a bit weird near the end. I'll post it back to you if you want .

BTW

Didn't I tell you that my quadruple turbo'd Micra can do wheelies as well? It can also do endos and bunny hops! Beat that!

p.s. this thread is getting rather stupid now...............................a bit like me

Wink

Used to think my Scoob was a fanny magnet....

Couldn't drive anywhere without some fanny sticking to the back bumper try to see if his _____ (Insert Saxo, Punto, Nova, Corsa etc) was quicker than a Scoob now that he'd fitted ______ (Insert big wheels, big stereo, big spoiler etc).

Who gives a rats *** if there is a nos,ed fanny transporter oven (fto) that beats a scooby?

Bully for it!!!!!

However i thing the same mods in a scoob i feel this would be the result.
The fanny transporter will get a right shafting

FTO (Fanny Transporter Oven) Superb! I like it.

Oops, likes the Scooby guys need to pick up the dummy and climb back in the pram. Was a jovial thread if you ask me, Not surprised a nitroused FTO could hold off a UK scoob.

Saw somewhere in this thread a Scoob would win off the mark and a Fiat Coupe would trounce it over 100, c'mon, lets get real, and of course I am assuming we're talking the 2.0 20v turbo not the 16v one. Anything not involving a standing start the Fiat would walk it vs a UK Scoob, say 25/30mph up. Scoobs are only good off the line if their owners can drive them as well.

Beaten a couple at Crail now, fair doos the Rover has the edge on a Subaru, especially at high speeds, but on teh 1/4 a 4wd should always gain enough initial lead you would think.

Be humble people, dont get upset over a bit of banter.

Quick Reply: Who got surprised by a NOS'd FTO then?
