Knockhill 12th OCT

I was driving the green Scoob on track and I can honestly say that it was the worst display of driving I have ever seen at any track day! I saw two cars completely destroyed after being rolled (Ambulance required both times) and around 6 other serious collisions. The cars that were on track would have been turned down by all but the most desperate scrap dealer and should not in a million years been allowed on a racetrack. These cars were not just MOT failures but downright dangerous! On my 3rd run on track I came into the pits after 2 laps because I was absolutely certain that staying out any longer would have ended in a collision.
Knockhill should cut the "hot hatch" crap and call it what it is "Banger racing"!

I understand Judge's comments . There were some total loonies out there, but a lot of guys who seemed to know what they were doing too - lots of trust between them so I guess a lot of them knew each other and knew what they could get away with. I don't think Knockhill is right to let the complete sheds out on track though - I saw several cars that would not have passed an MOT due to bodywork rusted through, for example, and a couple running totally bald tyres pretending they were slicks LOL.
Lots of guys trailering cars there now too so they won't particularly care whether the car's in one piece at the end of the day. For that reason, I wouldn't take my road car on track on one of these days. The commentator said there were about 150 cars out so the total mount of damage wasn't too bad in relative terms. I've seen more damage at proper club track days with much fewer cars.
I was with the 205 guys, glad you got some good info Zeolite

It's funny after I posted my previous reply I was in the puggti BB and I heard about the accidents. Seems I arrived after all the carnage. Anyway I don't think I will be taking any of my cars out on a HH day. Certainly not the Scoob.
Got some good pics of pugs innards for the build.

Well I was there for a couple of hours in the afternoon. My first time at a hot hatch. My impressions were fairly good although that bloody disco was really pi**ing me off. Driving seemed to be OK and I had heard horror stories about the HH days. Much younger crowd than the SIDC days
Got lots of good info on 205s from the challenge folk as well.
