Foz m8,
Don`t u listen 2 mo (sayin that u already know that)
I was sorry at the last evo dyno day I didn`t run big red cos after seeing their figures she`d have kicked a large percentage of evo butts even without being fully mapped
Mo,
whats the L8st on the fridge ?

Foz, I'll give you a balanced approach.
Evo6 - Rapid, very good handling, easily tunable to over 340bhp/300lbs. AYC takes a bit of getting used to. Monster car to look at, the best shape IMHO. Downsides if used as they should. Clutches will need changed at the same time as your tyres, front brakes are crap around circuits and can be easily warped on back roads. mpg...don't go there!! Service every 4500miles, mainly for AYC fluid change. This is a main dealer job. If you overstep the tuning with no failsafe, repairs will be 'costly'
Saying that it is definetly the best performance car I have owned..you will not be disappointed.
Impreza, good performance, solid handling (although a tad nose heavy) better mpg, looks and sound the part....oh and a warranty.
You pays yer money and takes yer chances. Try both, back to back mate if poss' that's the only way you'll know whats fir you.
But my choice would beeee.......E6, then once it's burst the bank, run a tdi, then come home to roost with an Sti

Cheers for that
I do about 250 hard miles a week, (over the hills between Aberdeen and inverness) and they are HARD miles, fuel tyres clutches and brakes will take a hiding thats what puts me off the evo, oh and the insurance
As for the P1 spotted a low milage (15k) 1 owner minter with 18" prodrives and the alcon/prodrive brake upgrade, could get it for about 3k more than a nice E6...
mods wise for the scoob would be decat, big pipe ,remap to stop any detting, thats it, oh and maybe a FMIC, chassis wise just leave it as they are pretty much spot on
the 6 i can see being a never ending spiral, unless was to buy a Makkinen..
decisions decisions
anyone want a black CTR?

Foz,
If you decide to go for the P1 then I have been thinking about selling mine. I live in Aberdeen as well.
Excellent condition. It has 29k on the clock, standard apart from a forge D/V and a few cosmetic changes. It is having its big service(£440) and MOT done next month. I'm toy'ing with the idea of extending its warrenty for two years as well (£420).

Foz. Don't do it! Give me your money and I will build you a 205 challenge car. Then you can get rid of your frustrations and money in a legal way! What you need is a TD estate with a tow bar. How about an Octavia? Or maybe a Zafira?
whoosh I have seen your car running about Aberdeen with a female driver.

Whoosh does you p1 have any goodies- prodrive/alcon brakes etc? Oh and that no plate looks familiar from a P1 that was getting launched "enthusiastically" at crail last year
205 challenge, well give me a watertight quote

foz.. Go to the bank and take out the loan. Put the money into a big bag marked swag. Then come and see me in a dark alleyway and we will discuss it.
Looking at around £3k to build depending on donor car.
wooosh...It must be love!
