Thumbs up

Car -
MY98 UK Turbo

Mods -
MY99 WRX EJ20 (if that counts as one...)
PPP
H&S de-cat d/p + c/s

261.5bhp with 239lb/ft torque

Happy with that, as most could probably tell with the smirk that laid itself bare across my face after the car had run.

BIG thanks to Pete for organising the day, letting it coincide with my field break, showing me the way to Star from Dundee and for dropping in some cyclists for entertainment.

My shed -

Thumbs up RR day at Star.

A bit thankyou to Pete for organising. It was a good day and I was pretty chuffed with my results.
Had to run less boost than the car was capable of, as the high setting on my EVC kept triggering the overboost cutout, so ran at 1BAR and got 420bhp. Torque was (IIRC) mid 300's.
The turbos are safe up to 1.2BAR, possibly 1.3, so the BHP should be in the high 400's once I sort the EVC. Might just need a good clean, as it was fine on the high setting back in December.

A good day anyway, thanks again Pete.

Dave

ps - It's a Skyline, not a scoob !!

Cool

If I'd put the Ford Fu*kass on the rollers I would have shamed you all (except Spooks). I reckon with a bit of welly, truning on the Air Con, Front Fogs and the added power of the Helphire stickers it would probably have made around, mmmmm, some Brake Horse Power - the rollers wouild struggle to hold it down though!!

Yup, happy with that considering the fairly modest levels of power mods done. Tbh i'm more relieved than anything else! Doug, what boost levels are you running on the Dawes? You've baited me into the search for another 1bhp now.

Russ, not sure about how much further i'm going to go with the fridge mate. Once the next round of tarty mods are fitted it may be time to start saving. Still got these tyres here for you, will need to catch up sometime.

John, all being well i should be there for everybody to trip over on the 20th March. Will be sure to catch you on the 29th May though.

Carl you may gain more torque from midrange boost. Don't force it to hold too much at peak power or you will probably lose power.

Thanks for the work you done on the car wuz. I am delighted and will get back to you soon and let you know about the exhaust and secs unit. A few boys have asked about the BHP development sticker already and i am giving you plenty of advertising and hopefully get some boys down from up here to give you plenty of work. Anyway all the best and thanks again Gary

my car (MY99 wagon with PPP) got 237.5bhp (remember the .5) with 240 lbs torque. As with damo sti, jim also said that the turbo was not holding pressure, 0.9 IIRC, so i will need to get that seen to,then who knows!!!

Jim said mine was low on boost also.

Said it was a dodgy boost reading on his machine.

0.5 bar at peak 260bhp...............................must be nearer 350!!!

dougster,

the boost was pretty level on 1.0 until 2/3rds through the run then dropped down to 0.9. he said that it might be something up with the mapping or the turbo.I think i will take a trip to the garage and get them to check it out.

hi pongo,

i had a puncture on friday, but thankfully it was on my daughters pram and not the car so a trip to the bike shop for a repair kit was all that was needed. FFS £750 for a pram and it dont even come with a puncture repair kit !!!!!AAAHHHHH but you do get a customised pump for your money, (coooool)

Bloody hell Doug!

From looking at my graph again (slowly starting to make sense of it ) mine appears to hold at just over 1.1bar and peak at 1.2.

Sooooooooooooory to drag this one back up but i need a favour from any peeps that were feeling camera-handy that day.

Just looking for 5-6 shots of cars at Star on the day or on the rollers. As long as they were taken on the day i'm happy. They will be posted on the web but all reg #'s etc will be removed.

Doug, you don't mind if i nick your pic do you?
