Knockhill Today (29th)
What!!!!! sun at KH OMG, excellent track day.
Johnny50, sorry for being a little late m8 I think I just missed you by about 10mins.
Good day overall, but not for one person OUCH.
Some of the driving was getting a bit suspect at one point, mainly from people who brought race-cars nice to meet Dave from DR Motorsport, Mrs has been pestering me now for a DV after hearing your HKS one on the track
How quick was that Radical !!!! I need one of those
John P you have mail
Hopefully be able to come to the next one aswell (only to spectate though still not brave enough to put the Scoob on the track) and next time I'll hopefully be able to get to the meeting point on time.
John.

John and Alan, thanks for the photos, some REALLY good ones, especially down at the hairpin. I could'nt appreciate the amount of roll the car had, especially with those new springs. There great on the road but way too soft on the track.
Steve, nice to meet you mate, yeah the brakes lasted,...just!! It's amazing how brake fade can focus the mind, especially into Duffus.
All in all, a very enjoyable day as I was a bit 'worried' about going back on track after nearly two years, but you get easily hooked again.
Good Points about today...
- MacD's egg and sausage meal to start off
- Weather??!! WTF happened there. The whole of Scotland under snow appart from KH??!!
- Getting a good feel for the car and REALLY enjoying it
- Coming thru' Clark two abreast with the GT3 RS and tandem drifting together. Quality moment!!
- Getting the car home in one piece
Bad Points....
- Amount of fuel used (approx 6mpg )
- Tyre wear
- Length of time to book on, although the KH license should cut this out in future
- Tw@t who left blood on the optimax pump handle in Dunfermline, that I did not notice until I'd grabbed it. Well I suppose it is Fife!!
- Some dodgy driving from two certain individuals, who nearly took me out, one being the Radical, who nearly swiped my side at Duffus, on the final cool down lap. Obviously took time for the hormones to abait and the wee Renault 5, who had torville as a passenger, as he was skating all over the place and thought it would be a good idea to lunge by at the hairpin
Really looking forward doing more over the year as I'm reinfected with the trackbug.

Got to disagree about the dodgy driving, some drivers were better than others, but the good ones also run out of talent at times.

HI SOOB escort was going really well, emerson was told he was scaring the other drivers by out braking them into the corners, he was driving well until the gearbox gave up again. The brakes are totally awesome.

MickW, scaring drivers is a bit of an understatement, he was stopping it on it's nose from silly speeds Was good to watch. Was that what the marshals requested a chat about??
What brakes are fitted to it?

Hi guyz,
An amazin' day out and my tyres were trashed so i must have had fun
Can't be arsed making contraversial statements after such a crackin' day however, I was forced to hit the brakes so violently that ABS cut in on me @ 80 mph after having to move ofy my line for the dueling lime green Elise / Cossie - I hit the horn at the time. Fair enough one car doing that but having 3 cars going into the same bend at 70 + was a phukin' joke. I complained to the marshall cos it was downright dangerous ........Driving hard / competitively is fair enough but driving like a **** isn't - I dont question the drivers ability, just the blatant disregard for others. I note the Cossie was black flagged and the seriously dodgy driver in the Elise later span and had a cone wedged under his arch ...................Anyway, we all have our moments, its just if people keep driving like this then it'll end up becoming like Hot Hatch where driving standards are appaling...........Rant over
I'd like to say that everyone elses drivin' was spot one with safe drivin' and frequent acknowledgements all round .............Had tremendous fun
Was good to meet Evo Jkp, Judge & Jamie & the chap from DR Motosport - nice chariots all round ......met
Looin' forward to reviewing the camcorder footage
Cheers guyz

CIVIC TYPE R I thought knockhill was a race track, marshall apologised for taking silver escort off the track but he had to be seen doing something. You did not have the racing line because the escort was in front of you. If you had listened at the briefing you are allowed to overtake under braking.Get a bigger set of brakes.

Yer ****! Had wheels but couldn't be bothered, I had the monster truck from work.
Besides, it would just have been the usuall track action with the "ultimate track cars", the Elise's! So thats why Matey stuffed his then. Should have kept his Rover.

Have to agree, what a great day out.
And nice to put faces to some of the names on here.
Never really saw too much bad driving today, seen worse at SIDC days from certain individuals, but people were having their own close battles on track so it's better to leave them to it.
Did see the Renault Turbo2 getting black flagged though.
Managed to use 3/4 of a tank, plus 2 x 20litre containers. All for 120 miles or about 100 laps. Think that works out about 6-7 mpg. Plus a full set of Mintex pads, front and rear (but they weren't new).
So a nice cheap day out.

Aye..turned out to be a great day.
Think i even caught the sun..
John...sorry we nipped away from mcd's...but the rest were moaning at me to go..so sorry i missed you there.
Have to agree...was some dodgy driving on track though..especially when some of the slower cars were picking bad places to slow and let people past..
But..at least they wern't blocking i suppose.
Cant wait till next time...hopefully i'll be ready for the track too.

Hi all again, just want to clarify some of my earlier statements, I'm not tring to get at people about their driving, just some people might need reminding 95% of the cars on the track are peoples own day-to-day cars so stuffing your race-preped car down the inside of them at the last moment isn't the cleverest of things to be doing IMO, especially when most of these people don't have the track experience of somebody who races for a hobby. Yes I do agree that it is fun to have some competition but not when it could cost somebody a shed load of cash to repair somebody else's over eagerness.

Hey Foz,
Tyres were great but pretty caned now ! Not sure where the Elise went off but I beleive it made contact wtih the tyre wall
Looking forward the seeing yer new beast in action - there was an S2000 out on track on Sunday - loose back end to say the least !
Anyone see that Cayenne with the 22" pimp rims ?

Hi all,had another great day at KH yesterday, the track and weather were fantastic. It was good to put a few faces to names (Civic type R,Sti spec A,Subarstar,AndyUK300 to name but a few) Tremendous cars in attendance on and off track. The Porshe GT3's were scary fast as was the Cossie Escort.I personally thought the driving was some of the best I have experienced at KH with everybody affording due respect to the faster and slower cars, there were a couple of exceptions as always but on the whole v good.
Never enjoyed screwing a set of front tyres so much!

Judge,
i,m sure u will agree the crap driving was done by that tw@t in the new astra/cavalier that overtook subarstar and yourself on the road from kh to tulliallen. then decided to make another idiotic move to get past me and grant on what was solid whites plus an extra couple of cars in front of us . apart from that it was an excellent day, must agree about the GT3 RS. totally awesome
thanx again for the pax laps, most impressed. called Dalgetty Bay today, now in the decision phase
cheers
