Extract from an Email I received from Knockhill;
NEW for 2004 Knockhill Racing Circuit are delighted to announce a partnership
with The Scottish Sun and News of the World to promote a fun family motor show
named MOTOR FAIR.
You don't have to be a petrolhead to enjoy this show, there really is something
for everyone to provide a fun filled family day out. From helicopter rides to
Mountain Boarding and from Monster Trucks to Ferraris, you are sure to enjoy
yourself at The Motor Fair.
The KIDZONE features the Playstation dome for all to have a shot on the racing
games, slot car racing is inside the Kidzone marquee beside laser clay shooting
and bouncy castles, kids quads and the Coca Cola football bus should provide
enough entertainment for small kids (and big kids!)
The STUNT ZONE must not be missed. Amazing Supercross Freestyle stunt team will
be doing an amazing flying motorbike routine, plus world class Mountain boarders
will be jumping off ramps and doing real dare devil stunts. Fancy a go
yourself? For all bikers there is the BIKERITE wheely simulator.
In the MANUFACTURER ZONE we have some exclusives! Vauxhall will have for the
first time on public display to the UK public the brand new ASTRA, alongside
will also be the awesome aussie V8 Monaro. Mg Rover will have the full range on
display and on track, don't miss the SV V8 X Power supercar. Other
manufacturers on display include: Seat, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Lotus, Aston Martin,
Suzuki, Citreon, Honda, and Smart. Selected manufacturers will be giving
passenger rides around the circuit..... this is FREE just make sure you book in
early to avoid dissapointment.
Get up close to a great selection of race and rally cars in the MOTORSPORT ZONE
The world's most exotic cars will be on display in the SUPERCAR PADDOCK. Cars
including Ferrari, Porsche, TVR, Audi Quattro, Lotus, Evo's and loads
more........ these cars are not just on static display, they will be driven as
they were intended with the owners pushing them to their limits round the racing
circuit.
It's not all about speed at Motorfair. Go along the the road safety zone at the
skid centre and on the hour there will be skid pan demonstrations as well as
demonstrations from the Police road safety unit and the Fire brigade.
Hop over the foot bridge and jump into one of our brand new Isuzu Rodeo 4x4
Pickups. This may be one of the slowest activities of the day but it is one of
the most exciting...... drop down amazing cliff edges, through water splashes
and over humps on our purpose built 4x4 course. Remember this is FREE just book
your place at the booking office. Don't miss out on Rodeo Drive!

You may find Dougster had a slighly heavy night and then was at the Hill Climb in Doune but was at K.H. Saturday.

Worth joining - the 10% saving at Nobles on everything equals the fee easily.
Just make sure you put the sticker in your back window or Dougster may ask you about it?!?!?

The Tent was in serious danger of lift off on Saturday, despite being tied to 2 cars, so if it was breezy again today they may have decided against putting it up.
Nice to meet peeps on Sat though- Jules, Judge, John S, Kart Man & Dougster to name a few
Able to put faces to names now

We did have terrible problems with the wind and rain on Saturday, which meant we had to take the marquee down. We were planning to leave it up overnight, but even with it tied down to two cars, it was lifting off the ground and running the risk of a) getting broken, b) damaging some of the cars nearby (our own!). Knockhill staff were there until 8pm, trying to control one of the huge marquees in the main area, which also had taken off in the high winds (it weighed over 1 ton in weight!!), and was dangerously close to many cars, other stands etc.
As Dougster had the only wagon, he had to take it in his car. On Sunday morning, at about 11:30, it was still raining and miserable, with a strong breeze, so we took the decision not to erect the marquee, and Dougster headed off to Doune as planned to watch the hillclimb.
Typical Knockhill weather - it then started to dry up, and by about 1pm, the rain and wind had stopped, and a dry line was forming on track, but there was nothing we could do by then By the end of the afternoon, it w3as actually quite pleasant, and although not warm, you didn't need 15 layers of clothing to keep warm.
Later in the afternoon, we did get all the Imprezas lined up in the paddock area, and handed out a few flyers for the club.
There was even one Impreza that managed to get out on track with all the supercars (Diablo, TVRs, 911s, GT40, Exiges etc.), and did quite well, lapping the Esprit turbo about 3 times, and the Diablo twice. The track was still wet though
All in all it was a very good weekend out, and very nice to meet lots of you there
- we'll just have to make sure we've got more suitable transport for the marquee next time.
