Default Am I being to gentle on the Scoob.....?

Jsut filled up on Optimax..... 260 miles since the last time. Quick Question... am I driving too gently/slowly - or has my car got a bigger tank than standard

How much did you put in it? I get between 200 and 250 miles on £30 of Optimax, depends on driving. Even had 295 once but that was down to the last dribbles I think.

Scoobs can be economical (sort of) if driven maturely. Driving as they want to be driven costs more cash!

Seems about right, i'm getting slightly less than that at the moment, due to car not being mapped yet, but 260 was my normal before.

What MY do you have? Don't know about the size of tank in the older Impreza's, but they are 60 litres from MY99 to the new ones.

On my standard MY99 RB5, if I drove like my Gran I could see 390 out of a full tank. With a decat it's probably 330 tops with the same slow driving.

A few blats and it starts to tumble.

I think the best I saw from my MY00 was about 260 miles from a full tank

Sadly enough, I even had a spreadsheet to keep track of the fuel consumption - it averaged 21.8mpg over the entire time I had it!

Wonder who has it now!

MY 02 sti PPP - I think its a 60ltr tank - I tend to fill up before its on fumes though so probably around 50 litres at a time. 390 miles on a tank full - wow That is sensible driving.

Yes, it is a 60 litre tank in your car.

I used to use my car for business and did a lot of motorway miles going to different customers. I didn't see the point in using full throttle all the time, so that sort of milage is possible.

If you spend a lot of time on and off the gas, then it's not very efficient and will eat into the consumption. Your PPP also means your run more boost and will use more fuel under load. If I fitted a PPP on my car it would do the same.

At the end of the day, if you drive efficiently you'll get the best consumption. Just like any car, if you're heavy on the throttle it's gonna cost you. But that's where the fun is

Bloody hell I must be booting it more than I think!!

During the run in period I got one tank as high as 280 miles. Now my average is 210. That's from filled to the brim until the light comes on. If you take it around Knockhill, the best I've had is 50 miles for a full tank.

Feckin 'ell. If I trade-in my RB5 I'd need to fill it twice a week. Fuel would cost more than the bl00dy repayments

Well, fuel costs me about £180 a month now and I can get a new MY04 STI with PPP for less than £360 a month with my trade-in
