Default Opinions on this tartan please?

I'm getting hitched soon and I was considering getting the following tartan....

Its newly released so isn't 'common' yet but I'm not sure about it yet.

Could you please complete the poll with your opinions to give me a step for a hint?

Cheers

It looks not bad !!
Is there not a Tartan for your Clan/Last name ?
Also worth considering if it will blend with best man & others tartan as your wedding seems to be the main purchase point.

As an Englishman (lived in Aberdeenshire for 15 years) I'd be tempted to kick you in the **** (X marks the spot) when I got pissed at your reception . Smacks a bit of Union Jack Boxer shorts .

Can you not get one with the St George on it - much nicer

ps
I don't think you need to tell folk you're Scottish if you're wearing a kilt - most people will be able to guess (Although one of my pals was in Twickenham when some bint asked him "Are you Welsh"

pps You can post my invite up here

I didn't realise Englishmen needed an 'X' to show them where the **** was...... Isn't that what mirrors are for?

Thankfully not!

But I could be Irish!

I'm sure your ex-mates (from the stagger) will see the funny side of a well placed spot kick - you'll have enough to worry about without wondering which pisshead will try to convert you (ooooh errrrrr).

Have fun (and get a proper tartan )

Looks fine from the front. But the rear is up there with red mud flaps on a DBM.

j/k

I'd seriously reconsider.

Perhaps it would have been an idea to ask for your age when giving opinions so we can see if there is a common theme in those opinions expressed.....

Just wondered if its the "younger" guys who like it, and the "more mature" who don't!

Any case, keep the opinions coming guys!

Ok....

I'm 20 and I dont mind it because its different. However, for my wedding I would probably choose something a wee bit more subtle and traditional, maybe I'm just too mature for my age!!

I would wear it for Stag Nights, 21st Night Outs, Rugby Matches etc... Occasions when it would be more appreciated IMO.

At least its not leather!!

Cheers,
Grant

If it were leather, he'd probably have the sack & crack wax already and having an "alternative" wedding

Re-cap.....

60% like it
40% don't

but, only 50% of the "like it's" would get married in it.

Age 27

Bit of a traditionalist here and as such I would say dont wear it.
Looks daft.

Johnny,

I realy like the SRU tartan, but unfortunately, my fiancee's brother wore it to his wedding a couple of years back and I don't want to copy him......

I was going to go for the Graeme Monteith which is similar colours to SRU but slightly different design.... we'll see what happens

The English already have a fancy, I mean "national" dress. Unfortunately it involves little bells and waving your hankerchief in the air

Personally, I'd try to find a tartan for your family name. That Scots ones not common just now, but if everyone starts wearing it to the Rugby your wedding photos aren't going to look that great.

Just looks a bit too gimmicky to me.

Stefan
