Road to Kincardine was shut for a while due to a car fire. Auld bugga in front of me, driving along with bits of burning car dropping off into the road. Had to jink past him to get him stopped and out the car. Less than 5 mins later the whole front end was up in flames. He thought he smelt burning but wasni sure if it was his car or the old transit in front of him..

Great photos, will get mine up later. Glad you liked the din. Managed to suss out that hairpin eventually after some early understeer problems.

MASSIVE thanks to WUZ who accompanied me down on my first day at Knockhill. Your guidance was invaluable. Only span three times..

Great day out. Hope its dry next time as that was well slippy but got well better for the last hour.

The 20G is a beast, still only got a conservative map @ 1.2bar, not for long though and then we can get some Power!!

I take it you have one on the way?

Kev, I was booked on but backed out after I sold the Sti for an Evo. Knowing my luck I'd have wrapped it, when it technically ain't mine anymore.

Looking forward to the next one tho'. It was torture spectating and not being able to go out

Hi.

Just popped over from Scottish Elises. Had a great time at Knockhill today - It's good to see just how well the different marques work together.

Big 'TA' for all who moved over and let us play on the twisty section.

Got some video footage up at www.macspower.co.uk but not to sure of the Scooby content (rear facing camera)

Managed quite a spectular spin at both the exit to Glenvargil & Clarkes on the same lap - Had a scooby pax with me at the time too - Hope I didn't worry her too much

Cheers

Mac (the elise one)

PS: Any pics - Cobalt Blue S2 says "Mac" on the back

No pics, but I was behind you in the black Golf GTI. Thought the first one was hilarious, the second...

Saying that, I parked it backward in the grass before Clarkes on the first warmup lap, so I can't really take the ****, can I?

Edit: Meant to say... another great SIDC day. We were at the Ned Express, erm, Hot Hatch day a few weeks ago. What a joke. £40 for the day. Get there and it's £8 at the gate. Each. Then it's another £20 for the additional driver (none of this mentioned). Expensive and, frankly, dangerous day.

</soapbox>

Steven

Great day oot, weather was crap, but very enjoyable on track.
No spins - so either I wasn't trying or the new rear spoiler worked well.

Managed the same trick getting to the bridge and wasn't held up at all.

Good photos everyone.

Went up for a blether with a few peeps and a quick look round the circuit. Enjoyed a watching a spectacular spin from a wagon going in to the Chicane. Needed his AWD to get out of the mud!

Deadduck.. You are right about The Hot (loony) Hatch days BTW. I was doing an autotest in the back car park at the last one and they spent more time cleaning up the track than running.

Yeah - The 1st spin was expected the second, not so much. Had a look at the footage and am still not to sure of the reason for the second spin - Perhaps to high an entry speed??? More than likely it was as the briefing suggested with actual and perceived ability.

Cheers

Spooks and Andy,

That spoiler was just a trial, put together and quickly painted during the week.

The 2001 / 2002 WRC rear spoiler is already available (same overall shape but no vertical slats). These meet WRC Homologation rules, and are being supplied to the teams in the Irish Rally Championship.

The 2003 / 2004 WRC spoiler will also meet homologation rules, but the one on my car yesterday needs a few mods to do so. The base will be wider to fit existing boot lid holes from original WRX or STi spoilers, and the top wing will be carbon same as the slats.

I don't have final prices for them, but will e-mail you both when I do.

Cheers Spooks. Great pics I've now got that as my desktop at work and at home!!!
1st Track Day, and had a fab day oot. Was saying 1st thing, there's no way I'm going out onto that track with my baby in the rain........that didnt last for long once i saw everyone else out! Not even the white wagon spinning in front of me at the hairpin put me off
Wasn't so happy once i started getting the (common - so im told) problem off no fuel when coming out off the hairpin once used i'd used a lot of my fuel
But never mind, had a fab day (even tho i'd only had 2 hours sleep), and I'll be back next time........with an Optimax lorry and a box of NF

Just spent the last hour editing my film, I've a 5mb file of Dougster with two running shots from different angles through the hairpin plus entrance into the pits. I've also a 2.5mb file of Pedro, with two running shots at the hairpin & entrance to pits as well.

The others I have are Dave Reid round the hairpin once, a dark blue classic (possibly a V plate) round the hairpin once and one of Kev's P1 around the hairpin. I also have in-car with Euan Anderson.
