Service van full of lots of wet weather tyres(not that we will be needing them)car all trailered up and ready to go.
Early start in the morning, got to be thare for 7AM, so off to bed shortly and looking forward to a crackin day.

Hope its dry to let us catch some of the 4wd boys but if its wet now thats another story, with no LSD we wheelspin in the wet in 4th

Who can all be bothered coming up?

Some late entries just added to list including Ricky Wheeler with the MK2 Escort warrior, one to watch,i think he will be seeded around 11.

Fantastic day, absolutely knackered.Car was great over the jump and landed lovely. We won class B9 by over TWO mins and also beat the time of the 1600cc winning car.
Should have some great pics sent to me over the next week or so and will post them here when i get them.

The only damage to car externally was when a 2ltr 16v escort wouldn`t move over to let us by so we eh well helped him and broke 2 headlamps and the front valence!!!
The other damage came when the hand held fire extinguisher in the boot came loose and dented every panel in the boot!!!
Going to watch my in car Monday night.

A bit disappointed in this today, the entry list wasn't as good as it usually is. Raymond Munro was there but didn't take part, Barry Johnson's Impreza is being converted to tarmac spec for the Isle of Man, and had hired a Hyundai WRC for the McRae stages (£10,000 for a days hire). Also there was a big rally in Ireland this weekend, so some of the usual Irish entries weren't here.

Also in the past there's been lots of trade stands, including Town and County Subaru stand; but very little this time.

The weather saved the day though.

Now you mention it, the tarmac at that specific corner was layed against the flow of traffic to allow water to run off easier.

But i aint splitting hairs!!!

Hey Opelcorsa,

Glad you enjoyed your run at UKRC 5 last weekend!

I was there helping the film crews get sorted out amongst other stuff. Do you, or anyone else for that matter, have any thoughts or ideas that you would like put forward to the organiser for next year.

For example what did you think of the yump? Was there a massive risk of causing damage to the cars?

Do you think a water splash would be a good feature for next year?

I will speak with the film company owner soon and find out when the programme is going to be aired and let everyone know.

Hopefully blag a video of the event out of him as well!!

Stephen

Glad to see he won. I couldn't go due to work commitments. I (and 3 others) won a raffle type thing at last years Town and County Knockhill Spectacular day but completely forgot about it until a couple of weeks ago, when a letter arrived. The prize was to spend the morning with Gary and his team at the press day last Friday before the Mcrae stages. We each got taken through the forrest practice course (between Tillicoultry and Gleneagles) at full pelt as a passenger with Gary at the helm. It was unbelievable. The ex-WRC Subaru with its anti-lag, water injection etc etc makes my STi PPP feel like a Morris Minor. It was a real priviledge to get the chance to be in one of these cars and Gary was a real star, explaining technical aspects of the car and demonstrating driving techniques as we went along (I was concentrating on trying not to produce some skidmarks of my own!). There were several other competitors there with their Subarus, Mk2 Escorts etc. Even got to rub shoulders with Colin Mcrae who was driving a 6R4. Alister Mcrae also there. Big thanks to T&C for making this possible and to Gary and his team for making us welcome. Chances like this are few and far between for us mere mortals.
