Default Andy Forrest

Just back from a visit to Andy Forrest, and i would like to thank him for the work and time he spent on my car today. It has totally changed the car and im loving it,hopefully i will get away with the pops and bangs as we had two close calls with the police on the way back. But i did say to him i would like it to pop and bang so thats what he did. It sounds like a rally car on the motorway it will do it constanly so im going to try and get used to the driving style by diping the clutch when your on the overrun if i dont want it to go off like a bomb.Sorry Andy for phoning you back about it so soon after leaving, but it seems to have been not to bad tonight. Thanks again and i would recomend you 1st to anyone, Sean

Just had it done.

Got a feeling i wont be able to keep it on.

Smiled from Port Setton to Edinburgh. Quite unoffensive pops when windows closed and changing gears. In an area with buildings etc and overrun, a bit much.

It turned more heads than Kate Moss walking nude down the high street, which was a bit uncomfortable.

JUST WISH THIS WAS SWITCHABLE!!!

Come on Mr EcuTek, make a release of your app so we can switch it like high/low boost. There's plenty of people that would want it if it was. (The customers always right. )

It differs from car to car apparently. But it's closer to OMFG than mild parps.
Yesterdays was full on BANGs, even when 3 point turning apparently. But the guy loved it.

Mine, well they're more pops. Much louder pops than the exhaust made previously and very frequent. It is easy to produce them on command. Every 10th one or so, or when the exhaust is hotter produces the ALS-style bangs.

I reckon is makes about 1 bang, 5 pops on overrun from 3500rpm to 2500

I'm gonna try get some clips/movies done next week. Shame i'm away the w/end.

Jury's still out on whether i can keep it. But i'm gonna have plenty of smiles/laughs while i decide. Always wanted my rally slags to replicate the real thing and sound like that.

No doubt the better half will decide for me. It is her car afterall.

* i don't doubt i could keel over old folk in a built up area *

(and before anyone jumps on me, it's a joke. I'd dip the clutch. )

Just gotta get ECUTEK to make it switchable, then it would be perfect!!

i wouldent imagine the local plod would be too keen on it though

like you say would be perfect if it was switchable, can it be switched on an apexi or is it ECUTEC only?

I am sure that you can have switchable MAPS. I am planning a Car PC with the DeltaDASH software installed, and with this you can switch stored MAPS.

Correct me if i am wrong though

Map Switching

Seems like this is the only option unless you replace the ECU..

Me too... and I assume you've gotta have a FULL De-CAT rather than a Sports CAT in the system?? (on a Newage STi)

NEGATIVE !! I have a Sport Cat on my car and had this enabled for 15 mins or so..........it was immense but I opted to have it switched off....Pops and bangs got better are the exhaust got hotter !

Ecutek really ought to link this to the aircon button or something so that it's switchable

It is quite un-offensive with the bung in. But unlike the car Andy mapped before mine. Mine's not full-on ALS style bangs, but are more frequent.

So even if you're planning a quiet drive, people hear pops all the time. I do like when it does the double ones.

Unless it can be mapped further up the range, ie. 3500+ Then mine will have to come off.

I'm taking some pics of meercat exhaust for the bandit, so i may be able to get a clip or two.

It is louder when the exhaust is hotter though. Will see what i can do...

Here's a couple.

The best one, (after the exhaust was warm) typically didn't record as the memory card was full, so will do another later...

That is pretty severe popping..

My body has stopped popping and i needed an excuse to get out.

Shame the latter ones didn't record, they were monsters.

I'm tempted to do some night ones, see if they flame. I don't think so, as i did about 50 miles the night it was done and didn't see the road light up behind me... But who knows

So, anyone tempted to get it done?
You'll deffo get an ASBO though.
