Default Knockhill Wed Night

Hi took the plunge went to a track tuition night at knockhill with my sti ppp. Had half hour to go crazy at the end of the night and my car is faster than honda s2000, bmw z4, porsche boxter, civic type r, mark 1 elise, golf gti and some clapped out saab.
While I'm here does anyone know why after the hairpin giving her the gun in third gear after the hairpin it got to 5000 revs and coughed and spluttered most times?

Sounds like your suffering from fuel surge.
All the juice is at one side of the tank and the pick up for the pump is at the other. It results in fuel starvation.
Happens when you get belkow half a tank.
Remedy....fit a swirl pot to keep a head of fuel .
If your not going on track again....dont bother.

Very common problem with Subaru's out of that corner and even more so when you've had a few laps under your belt.

As Jamies says, fit a swirl pot or top it up.

Don't have that problem with my Octavia vRS out of the hairpin - got up to 6500 rpm in 3rd on the pit straight

Obviously not going fast enough round the hairpin

How much did this cost?

Was it one on one tuition?

The tuition part of the night was not worth the money, all that was involved was following a pace car who was driving the racing line. You could however take one of the instructors in your car during the last half hour but I didnt have time for that nonsense! It cost £99 and £160 for me to insure my car so it was quite an expensive exercise. I absolutely loved it tho!

Hey thats pretty good, even with my car playing up I still got 110 mph at the end of the straight, do scoda drivers care more about how many revs they can produce? what speed were you doing?

Only 105 In retrospect I'd have been better shifting into 4th at about the 6000 rpm mark.

Will try harder next time
