Right, my cars nearing 40k and in now out of warranty. Getting fed up of paying dealers prices and getting a cr@p service. My scoob needs the tracking done and a 40k service. I stay in Glasgow - any recommedations?

 

heard that Marc light at The garage in Wishaw is meant to be good. also others use Greer Sport in Bieth.....i used to take the trip up to AWD in Perth tho when i lived in Glasgow

 

Not had any dealings with the others you mention, but i can vouch for the garage in Wishaw. Marc's a top bloke who knows his stuff, not much cheaper than a dealer for servicing, but they are top notch!

Actually had a great 50k service at Iain Grieve in Falkirk. It's the cambelt one and came to £330, they even washed the car too. Interesting when you see non dealer specialists doing the same thing for £350 because it is cheaper! Mind, did get SIDC discount.

It must have been some discount mate, av just paid £425 for a 30k service from them, and no they didn,t wash it!!

 

My 50K is due shortly and Ian Grieve have quoted me £307+vat. Thats where mines will be going You'd get 10% off this if your a SIDC member.

 

I'm expecting the 60k to be something like that though because it involves changing all the plugs and fluids etc. People think the cambelt service will be the biggy but looking at the service book it is the one with the plugs that is the killer.

Will still go for the 10% off though!

p.s. i sent mine in with mud up the side so i suspect they felt sorry for it!
