Question

Hi everybody!
Just making some enquiries into having these chips fitted, was chatting to a tuner in Scotland and he was saying they had done about 40 cars with no trouble.
i know the obvious responses to these chips but just wondered if anyone could actually speak from experience, good or bad?
i mean these cars can do pistons without the chip so is it proved the chip could be to blame for any engine failiures.
i had a friend who had full decat and superchip on MY01 and no probs, trackdays and general abuse, but my car is MY00 so not sure wether the internals are the same.

many thanks

Lee

I think Dave Brown has one fitted to his MY99.

I have his E-Mail address somewhere if you need it, but he'll probably see this himself.

Cool

Lee,

Had 1 in my WRX (old style) for about 2 years without any probs
before upgraded to link
Running 22PSI+ , also had an HKS AFR fitted for safety to make sure there was plenty of fuel available after cranking the boost up. Like i said and Dave would confirm it no probs. It made the car a bit more eeger

Pete

Were you running 22 psi on the superchip ??? or only after fitting the Link ?
Did you have a TD04 / 05 or hybrid ??

thanks for the replys, well pete i dont want to be running 22psi, i think i would be too worried!!
i was thinking along the lines of 17psi? do you get much choice though on the adjustment of the boost? or does have a bleed valve to adjust when the chip is in place. im no technical boffin so you will have to excuse me. this TD05 is a bigger turbo? or is it standard? if it is bigger will it cope with more boost, i do about 28000 miles a year in mine should i take this into consideration?

cheers Lee

Hi there just saw your post. Dave Brown has probably set you right by now but just to let you know I have been running 18psi with my Superchip for over a year now and no problems.
It seems the way these things blow up your engine is if they are incorrectly fitted. Dave Brown or Falkland will see you ok.
If you are going to the rolling road on Sunday come say hello. DBM MY00 with DAA in the reg. Sorry i missed you before, drop me an E Mail if you want to chat further.
