Out of curiosity...

I'm about to retire (at the ripe old age of 27), next month and i s'pose i'll need something to do, so...
Do you feel there is a market for a valeting service in Dundee and the surrounding area?
The plan is to collect clients cars from their home or place of work and bring them back in mint condition.
Whats a valet cost these days anyway?
I was thinkin along the lines of wash, chipstick any stonechips and polish. Clean alloys with industrial alkali cleaner and blacken the tyres. Give underbody a blast with the pressurewasher. Clean inside windows, cockpit and upholstery. A good hoover and shampoo carpets.
Probably about 3hours work.
Let me your opinions please, good or bad.
Cheers...Paul

Anyway dunno bout the rest of the peebs, but I don`t let
any1 near me mota 2 clean it. The reason bein that it`s the
only time I give the car a good inspection etc.
Sayin that there must b a market 4 it, jus look at the amount of

Hi m8
Up here in Fort William there are 2 Valets. Both seem to do okay although they don't do touching up paintwork etc. Usually about 40quid for interior/exterior.
Worthwhile trying to get large company contracts as one of my mates did. He always seems to be busy.
Oh & by the way - no male escorts in FW, and would'nt know how much they charge. By the inch??

Pete yer a right cheeky ****** and yer no oil paintin yerself mate!
Filter's fine bud, i fitted it properly today after work . The box wasn't closed properly. (3 guys to fit a panel filter and it still isn't right )
No major difference performance wise but there's a bra sookin noise when the turbo's running
Paul
P.S. Anyone got any suggestions what i can do in my retirement then seein as top-marque valeting and turning to prostitution are both out the window.

don't dump the valeting idea yet....
I used to work for a company in Aberdeen who had a big fleet of company cars, most of which sat in the car park all day daein nowt. There was a full-time valet cleaning the cars I think 2 or 3 days a week. Perhaps if you target busy folk with nice cars (but not necessarily enthusiasts) who would like their car to be spotless most of the time, but don't have the time or inclination - you might get more luck. Big companies (maybe NCR in Dundee) might let you advertise on their internal BBS for nowt as well....
Just an idea.
btw, I never used the valter service myself, my co.car was used as a chase car at weekends so I had to hose it down every Sunday night to remove the evidence!
