My mini Tour D'Ecosse
#1
Had the day off on Thursday so did my very own mini Tour D'Ecosse
Weather was gorgeous, traffic was light, and I had the day to myself with no other mission other than to enjoy the car and the scenery. So, the scene was set and the route was pretty much unplanned. Of I went, up through the Trossachs past Callender, Crianlarich and up across Rannoch Moor to Onich, and then back down towards Connel into Dalmally then to Inverary and down to Tarbert via Rest and Be Thankful. Finally down the side of Loch Lomond and back through Glasgow (via the shops ) About 280 odd miles and a whack of SUL Fantastic day though - windows down enjoying the sound of the exhaust reverberating off the sides of the mountains.
I usually only manage to get away in the car by myself a few times a year, and this was the first time in the Scooby - makes putting up with the worry of it going walkies, drinking fuel like a fish and generally costing a fortune fade away into insignificance when you floor it out of a tight second gear corner, feel the car grrrrip and slingshot towards the horizon - can't beat it
Saw a few other scoobs on my travels - a WR Blue new shape near Connel with lady driver who waved a P1 sitting near Byers Road in Glasgow with the window down (no response ) and a V plate sliver one near Inverary. Was it you?
Anyway, I look forward to my next wee tour - and recommend that the next time you have that wee voice in you ear (or the wife!) that is trying to tempt you from the fold - get out there, find some quite roads through our beautiful scenery - and enjoy!

Hi Gza,
a V plate sliver one near Inverary. Was it you?
W actually. Where've you been? http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...threadid=83424
I guess the R.F.s hadn't set up when you passed Tarbet (I saw them on the way back). Great day for a run; bedded in my new Toyos and blew out the winter cobwebs. BTW did you see the five traffic cars (Beamers & Volvos) parked up in Inveraray police station? Maybe they were waiting for you.

Sounds like you had a good time Chris, I covered a fair percentage of your journey coming back down from Inverness yesterday, you must have picked the right day though as the traffic was ridiculous for me
BTW, 3rd line of text, the Of should have another f
