Talking

Got a mate that was down at S&S (or SS Services ??) in Ayr thinking about trading his Volvo in for a 2nd hand MY96 Impreza Turbo.

He is kinda worried its been thrashed and the wear on the clutch pedal and gearshift etc dont seem to tally with the mileage (44,000)

Can anyone do me a favour and possibly go look at the car if you're passing by and then post here what ya think ??

The Reg number is N455 ODL

My mate is looking for a good car that wont go wrong as soon as he has bought it.

Cheers

Any car purchased from S&S, especially an Impreza, should have at least a years warranty.

Speak to John Spicer, one of the partners, who seems like a very decent and honest chap.

Also have a look at the MY98 Impreza Turbo 5dr in reddish blue that they have on the forecourt. Lovely car! ;-)

Would be too concerned about the state of the clutch pedal. The rubber on my MY98 dropped off after wearing through a few months back after the car covering ~48K genuine miles (40K of those with me ).

I've just bought my 3rd Impreza from John at S & S Services. As Dark says, John is a decent bloke and will sort anything that needs sorted. My first Subaru was a MY'00 Turbo, bought brand new and then I sold it back to them 2 years later as I had got myself into financial problems. 6 months later I went back to him and bought a Terzo with generous discount. Couple of months ago, I traded it in for a P1 and he basically bent over backwards to help me out. Had a wee problem with the P1 but as I said, he fixed it without any hassles.

Just got to say, I do recommend John Spicer and S & S Services.

Hope this helps.

Gordon

P.S. He reads this BBS quite often so he knows and respects the Subaru community.

Lo Richie

Just to clarifie what every 1 else has said. John S at S+S will do u alright m8 if there a problem just let him know and he will have it fixed,u never know he might just have got the car in and needs to freshen it up done that before.

And also remember that some 1 flow up from England and bought Gordon Shek's old Terzo so there reputation can't be that bad.2

Don't know why Gordon bought a P1 though the speed's he drive's at a Justy would have good enough for him>

Maybe Edward Cirsch knew I looked after the Terzo well and the car was so clean that John at S & S didn't need to do anything to it.

Dougie

You know I don't drive fast. I don't drive fast so a number of reasons:

1) It gets the car dirty quicker.
2) It drinks the juice and you know Super Unleaded isn't exactly cheap.
3) If you too fast then no-one sees you and that's why you SEE me driving.

Haven't seen you for a while bud - what have you been up to? Still trying to get extra horses from that Catalunya of yours? Get yourself a P1. I hear a rumour that John's getting 1 in soon.

Cheers

Gordon
