I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this already. For those that don't know Subaru UK have organised a track day for prospective STi buyers/owners at Knockhill. This is happening this Tuesday and supposedly involves new STi's and other special edition Subarus for the entire afternoon (both driving and as a passenger) and its all free of charge. Can't wait.

It is invite only AFAIK.

I have an invite from my dealer [not Nobles ] so - along with some other familiar faces will see you there.

Not sure if you can get in to watch although it's usually possible. Those taking part have all been issued tickets.

There are two sessions, morning and afternoon. I think the morning session starts about 9am, the afternoon session finishes about 4pm.

Cracking day.

I did the morning session and was well imprezed with the new car (Sti that is). After driving the sti, we got a chance to take the standard WRX round and must admit... it did highlight how much the standard UK WRX (and I currently own one myself) is off the pace these days. A hard thing to say, I know. While there are many good things that could be said about the standard WRX (no... honest), it just did not feel alive like the Sti I drove on Tuesday (assuming they were bug standard of course!!!). I'm sure there are those that with disagree with me, but these are my thoughts. It's not that the standard UK WRX is a "bad car", it just aint the car I wanted...

O'hum... be interested to see what they are going to do with next years model.

Hell maybe I'll get that Golf PD150 after all...........
