however :-

1. STOP SHOUTING!!! (Caps Lock OFF)
2. I would recommend removing the link to the photo, on the basis that any thief worth their salt would recognise where this fuse resides.....

Good idea though

It all helps i suppose, but if these ******* can by-pass a cat 1 immobilser then this will not pose much of a problem. But in saying that the longer you can delay the scum the better.

I disagree NORMSKI there is a very slim chance they would know. I bet 99% dont no about it on scoobynet. As for staying up allnight PM everyone on here either PM FASTERMIKE !! or get advice elsewhere as im not letting the thieving scum have any ideas .Yes BIKKNIGHT i would advise a spare one.

Thomo, while i agree this will help against the scum that nick your car keys from the house, i still don't think it will beat the more skillfull type of scum that are able to get round cat 1 immobiliers and the like. This is what they do for a living and they must know all about the electrical systems of the cars they are targeting. It's sad but true.

A good idea, also take off a HT lead. Fair enough if your cars targeted over a while they will buy a lead, but 9/10 they wont have a lead that fits.
OR- sleep in your car/buy a bad *** dog and let it use your scoob as a hut

This is probably one of the best devices ever - http://www.fundraise.org.uk/immobiliser.htm

Only £38, surprised not more people have them. You have to touch 2 metallic points before you can start the car - the points can be anywhere, so a dashboard screw, door handle screw etc.

Just disconnect the crank position sensor. Pull the connector part way off, not all the way. The car will just turn over then without firing.

Why not just drop the engine out, that'll stop them.

Just think though, if someone wants to nick your car, and they are stupid enough to break into your house to take the keys, who says they'll not be stupid enough to come back into your house and ask questions about why the car won't start? I'd prefer it if they just drove the car away than risk some hooligan theiving scum come and threaten to break my wifes legs if I don't get the car started for him.

Just a thought.

Remember the reason behind removing the fuse is because its simple to remove and hidden from view.OK its only fullproof if they dont have that particular fuse (which they wont) .To be honest there will be owners that wished they had done sadly. This idea was only intended to stop thieving scum. The thieving scum also hate them big yellow steering locks.

If they want it they will come back in the house with a sawn off shotgun and demand you start it, like others have said maybe a good idea away from your house.

Whatv about taking out the ECU?

Or unplugging every lead in the engine bay?

Or removing a wheel (and the spare)?

Had any of you went out like I said and bought a rip-snorting RWD retro classic, you could simply have removed the coil lead!

So what about that then, missus?

yours,

The big yellow disloks are nice and visible from outside the car however, so a thief who attempts to nick a car so equipped knows what he faces before he smashes the locks/windows etc to get into your car - removing a fuse just means that you've got to get your car repaired if they don't figure out what you've done, or you're not around to give them the answer.

Thatcham 1 approved alarm as standard, and a disklok, for as a member said "a visual f@@k off, and a mans best freind, you've got it right!!! a barking dog (they pick up a moth fart from 80 paces) If your not a pet lover try sleeping in the hallway as a deterent, im sure no one will even try it on this way. BEST OF LUCK.
