Some years ago a large group took up residence on a school field in our town.
The head, a known liberal and lefty, told staff it wasn't a problem.
The next day, the pikey kids beat up one of the children from the school.
At lunch time, almost the entire school went down to them. Caravans and a car were overturned and stuff badly damaged. By the time the head arrived to "make peace" the last of them were just hitching up to leave.
I'm sure they understood that, it's their way, after all.

mmm, people who seems to want all the benefits of living in a rules based system that support a community - but don't seem to want to bear any of the costs or responsibilities and simply "do their own thing"
sound like Brexiteers to me

Funny how the only people who have a good thing to say about Pikeys are SN’s resident snowflake left wing religious nutjob, and SN’s resident IRA sympathiser.
As for meeting a pikey, nope, why would I? I’m a law-obiding, tax-paying member of society with morals, therefore I have nothing in common with them whatsoever.

Pikeys are just another example of the way society has crumbled over many years. Mess, litter, dishonesty, no respect. Kids doing as they please, drugs etc. Need I go on? Of course there were always problems in society but never as bad as they are now and it's getting worse. Desperately depressing.
And lack of education is NOT an excuse for lack of respect. Possibly family breakdown is the biggest cause outside the pikey community.
Question. Do the Scandinavian countries put up with travellers/Romas etc living and wrecking their tidy countryside? I'd be surprised.

I lived in Bedford when this news broke.
In another paper i saw that human remains were found.
A pikey camp set up a few miles away from were i used to work, and the kids about 10 or so in number and ranging in ages would just stand on a bank and throw stones at cars. I worked for enterprise rent a car and wasnt going to stop and risk a kickin for a car that wasnt mine. LOADS of damage done not just to our cars until they moved on. We had to go miles out of our way to avoid them.
Then when i lived in Wales Farm equipment went missing on a large scale, farmers chased vans etc to a pikey camps and the police did nothing. Insurance mostly paid out but not all the time.
My ex's family ran a pub in Bedford, the uncle was bar tending one day and a couple of pikeys came in and ordered, he served them stupidly. Minutes later a load poured in and wanted serving, they were looking for trouble and he said no. So they beat him senseless, trashed the place and one or two regulars.
Cant stand them.

There always seems to be an impossible amount of rubbish left behind. It's totally disproportionate to the number of caravans and people/dogs there. Where does it all come from? Seriously, they must arrive with empty caravans having left all their sh#te at the previous camp, so there must be a constant stream of stuff coming into the place for them to be able to leave so much behind again.
Farmer I know had pikeys camp near one of his sheds for a week or so. When they left he found the big digger bucket in the shed had been used as a toilet by them and was filled with a sloppy mix of faeces and urine. Filthy.

As for the digger bucket, that made them feel at home.
Raggydo you are a disgrace.

As this thread shows we aren't the only ones... its a shame but its now pretty much accepted as part of looking after the parks. Trying to get them to move on can sometimes be a bit of a chore too, its strange how many padlocks have been damaged or left unlocked at sites they turn up to! Reminds me of one occasion when I had to help with security at the gates, stopping any more travellers coming in and informing the ones that left the site (another one of our green spaces) they wouldn't be coming back into it. As I was leaving work a colleague asked aren't you worried? I just answered back, Nah I'm going with Dave and I can run faster than he can

I used to live in a village in Kent that had resident pikeys, not a camp thankfully, was a sodding great house and gardens with eagles on the gate posts etc but they had stuck a load of caravans in the gardens
The worst time was whenever there was a pikey funeral in the village. They would park along the road and block it and not give a **** and you know full well the police wanted nothing to do with it. You have never seen so many new blinged up Range Rovers in one place and they say crime doesn't pay Full on horse drawn funeral cart etc with shire horses proper old style funeral procession with all the trimmings. Again the general public were just made to wait or go another way the village was pretty much a stay clear zone for several hours whenever it was a pikey funeral
I absolutely detest them with a passion. Kent has always been a hotspot for pikeys and they are a scourge on anywhere they turn up. If there is anything that needs culling in England, it's pikeys

Pikey family live about 3 miles from us, our daughter saw one of them for a while. Lives in a 6 bedroom mansion, never worked a day in his life. Stole a load of motorbikes from the area then disappeared for 6 months with family up north.. posted pics on fartbook of him with the bikes, cops did **** all. Hes back in the mansion again now. Glad i sold my car.
