Goodwood Charity day thankyou
#1
Lets hold an out door charity event in November....we must have been MAD!
End result - A B****y cracking day all round
What made it all possible?? Everyone turning up, mucking in and helping out, special thank you to Paul & Jen for picking up on it so quickly.
If you were at the briefing you will understand why I brought the charity to the attention of Easytrack & yourselves, the result yesterday was more than I had dared hope for.
A stonking amount of money will have been raised and nearly 20 families with seriously ill youngsters had a great day out. As Jane Buchanan (the wards fund raising co-ordinator) emphasised whilst there yesterday, one of these achievements would have been marvellous, to get both was really special.
The current "guestimate" for the money raised as a result of yesterday £4->5k. Probabaly take a month for all the money to filter in but I will post a final total.
Despite being completely Cream Cracked last night I'm still hyper today as a result.
Pleased to see that you guys had a good day yourselves.
Couple of minor points that you would not have been aware of yesterday that you may be interested in.
* A number of the drivers donated helicopter rides for the kids, that along with special deals flymagic did specifically for the families means that I belive all the youngsters that wanted to fly were able to do so.
* Couple of the auction lots did not on the face of it make a lot of money, however, it later became clear that they had gone to either kids from the ward or their parents - that was a real plus I felt. that said the auction raised over £1000 in its own right!
But what value the enjoyment had by the ward families?
priceless me thinks
THANKYOU
Robin, Dawn & Abbie (the loud short one!!!)
