A few ideas no definite location yet.
Aero - any more info from your mate?
I've had words with someone about the Quays Landlord, not holding out much hope, but said he would talk to him as the bloke is sort of a mate of a mate..etc..

Alex/Fosters,
I'm expecting a call back from a pub in Cobham later on today, I'll post on here how it goes.
I have made clear that there will be anything from 30 to 60 cars, with around 60-100 people for Sunday lunch! I have also made clear that we are a car club! I thought if we make it clear from the start, then there will be no issues later.
Cheers
Andy

Ok I just spoke to the manager at the Fairmile Arms in Cobham. Outlined what we need, and what we do.
He can't fit us in at the usual time we meet, and can only fit us in from about 3pm. The only advantage in this, is that he would be able to section off a part of the restaurant for us.
What do you guys think??
Personally if Alex can sort out the Guildford one, I think it would be better!
Cheers

If we need a 'respectable' front for negotiations let me know! I expect to attend future meets in an estate car, you can call Mister Suburban 2.4 kids from now on
Good luck guys, appreciate your efforts, after Dono days the Fleet meets been the greatest side-effect of Impreza ownership!

Not to worry Nito, I'm still long the big arsed bluey. Chopped the 'scort in against the Audi, one of the more unlikely trade-ups the dealer had seen in some time Nice car, seats are too slippery though

How about meeting somewhere before hand with a big car park, get the car talk out of the way first!!
Then move to a pub like the Fairmile Arms in Cobham, who will take us later??
Any thoughts on this??

Diggy, have you been to the Downshire arms? - seems to have a big car park.
Coming in to bracknell from the bagshot rd(322), it's on the roundabout where you turn left onto the southern industrial est and right (under twin bridges)into town.

Anyone checked out the White Horse on the roundabout(Ascot/Bracknell)?

Long time since I,ve been past!!

Iain,
Evenings aren't a problem, it's Sunday lunchtime that seems to be a pain!
The Fairmile will accomadate us for evening meets, as they have Porsche and Jaguar meets there, on a weekday evening.
They can fit us in anytime and any day, except Sunday between midday and 3pm!!!

Thinking about this and what we can do, so here's a suggestion:
We meet at Sandown Park, the race course in Esher. The carpark is free, and normally empty on a Sunday. We get there for about 12.30-1.00pm. Chat, take photos, etc.
Then about 2.30pm we convoy down to Cobham on a fast A-road (40-50mph), but we need to we weary of the Sunday drivers!!
Turn up at the Fairmile Arms at 2.35-2.45pm (depending how fast we go, or how many cars are on the road)
Both places are easy to find.
M25 J10. Or all the local boy and gals will know another route!!
Any thoughts??

Sounds ok Andy,
BUT a convoy of 30-40 cars is hard to organise, attracts the fuzz and people start to do stupid things to keep up with the rest of the convoy.
Long convoys can be dangerous.

Neil,
It really won't be a convoy, as it's only about 3 miles way, on more or less a straight road. There's really no need to convoy.
Especially as we will be going down a busy Hight Street, pass Esher Police Station, and down a road where Police sometimes sit. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks Andy
I've heard some reall horror stories about multi car convoys so wanted to be sure.
I guess those of us with fully decat systems will have to rev loudly past the police station

Andy T - sounds like a plan, I've not had much luck finding anywhere that will accomodate 60 odd cars in one area
Shall I make this offical then? Post the Surrey Meet topic?

Just spoke to the manager at the pub and he's fine with the 8th April for about 3pm.
I told him that there may be up to 60 cars there, and he was fine with that.
Jo,
They are kiddie friendly, they even have a big pay area round the back, so let's hope the weathers fine!!!
Fosters,
My car won't be warm either, but at least it's closer to home than the Quays!
Alex,
Do you want to post this or shall i?
