Cambridge Region Run
#1
The Cambridge boys are planning a run into the wilds of Cambridgeshire on 22nd April. Starting at The Royal Oak in Barrington (just off the A10) and finishing at Grafham Water near the A1, the route takes in some rather tasty roads (for Cambridgeshire!) and will include a stop for lunch at a pub. Please register your interest...

And a time's been agreed - meeting from 11:30am in The Royal Oak (Barrington) car park for the ritual car inspection followed by coffee in the pub at 12 noon. The maps and pace notes will be given out at this time, and we'll then head off for the drive at about 12:30pm. We reckon we'll get to the food pub at 1pm-ish or a little before.
Good to see quite a few people coming along!

Where we parted is a bit out of my way
My probable route is to use the A428 to cambridge then going to Bassingbourne and picking the A10 up at Royston, although I may change my mind and could meet you in the Texaco garage where we dearly departed company.
P.S Does the name Lee Harvey ring a bell.

Wacko, mat-e-boy and everyone else!
See Richard Gledhill's post for a map of where the starting point is (The Royal Oak in Barrington). It's just off the A10, about 4-5 miles south west of Cambridge.
We intend to meet from 11.30am onwards (the pub will serve coffee from midday) and we shall start leaving around 12.30. We will stop for lunch at a pub around 13.00, with the main part of the run continuing after lunch.

The weather is at last getting better (have I spoken too soon?), so the 22nd should be blisteringly hot!!
The route will take us through 50 miles of Cambridgeshire countryside and will include a stop at a small country pub for lunch (seating for about 20 people in separate room). The car park isn't huge, but there should be just about enough spaces.
See you all at Barrington...

You dont Lou to warn you of Gatsos... just look for the *HUGE* black lines of rubber on the road as Lou slows from mucho over the Gatso limit to mucho under th Gatso limit. ;-)
