I'm looking into arranging an outdoor karting event on 30th Sept (Sunday morning) at Clay Pigeon (a superb circuit) - Just outside Yeovil.

This will be a 2.5hr enduro with 30min practice and 15min qualifying.

There are 4 compulsory pit stops, 1 of which will be needed for fuel.

Karts are twin engined 160cc Pro-Karts capable of 70-75mph at this circuit.

Price if I can get 7 teams (max number we can enter as already 6/7 other entries) will be 180+ VAT per team which includes everything, if there are smaller number of teams cost will be £200 + VAT.

Numbers of people per team are up to you but with 4 compulsory stops 5 is a good number.

There are already 6/7 teams entered from elsewhere who race in this event on a regular basis so it won't just be a Scoobynet event although this could be available but much later in the year i.e. November.

Note if it rains we still use slick tyres.

Need to gauge interest ASAP to secure team places. Post here if interested stating if individual or team entry.

More info can be found at -

I'm fairly sure we can get a Dorset team up together for this, we've been talking about going karting, but no-one seems willing to do all the dirty work, but seeing as you're offering we may take advantage!

Don't seem to be having much luck with dates...

I'm heading off to Australia for a few months late September so I'm not going to be about Hopefully I'll make one later on next year when I get back.

Oh well...

OK Currently we have -

Gizmo555 (team of 3/4)
PAS (team of 3) - Does that include Steve B ?
Kernel (team)
Ron (team) - Still awaiting confirmation.

Come on guys this a chance to show off how you can really drive. Must be more SW members out there.

Need 4 more teams. If there are individuals wanting to do it than they can team up on the day.

I'm still waiting on a batch of e-mail replies, I can't say for sure yet, I'll let you know!
Ron
I wouldn't mind tagging on with another team if I can't get a team sorted.

No pigs I'm afraid. Besides bulking up before the race will only make you slower

I'm sorting us out a set of trophies (will add £30 to overall price which is only approx £1 per person)for Scoobynet peeps to race for as well as overall trophies so there are 2 trophies up for grabs if we're good enough. Bare in mind there are 6/7 regular teams which do this.

Thanks for response so far.

Cheers

Mark

OK latest list is -

Gizmo555 (team of 3/4)
PAS (team of 3)
Kernel (team)
Ron (team) - Still awaiting confirmation
SteveB (on his own)
Nozzer (on his own)
Darryl C (team of 3)

Need 8 teams really. We have SW meet on 12th so maybe see if we get any takers there (how about a SW Constabulary team ?). If we don't get remaining entries there then if you know anyone else outside Scoobynet who wants to do it not a problem.

Cheers

Mark

Pete - any chance of that second team we spoke about ?

Bit of a disapointing response so far. Need to close entries by end of this month. I'm going to mail Steve a flyer for info to try and get some of you other laziy peeps of your backside for a lot of fun on a Sunday morning. Need 8 teams really.

If you know anyone else outside Scoobynet who wants to do it not a problem.

Cheers

Ok. Looks like the final list is -

Mark (team of 3/4)
Paul (team of 3)
Pete (team of more than 1)
Steve, Ron, Ian (team)
Darryl C (team of 3)

I've been told there should be around 15 teams entered so should be good.

I'll post this week how to pay 50% deposit.

Steves enquired about practice. It's available on a weds or fri evening until dusk (about 8:30 at moment). Not sure on price but I think it will be normal hourly rate which I can find out if people are interested. Weds is probably best as going South on a fri is not a good idea at the moment. I won't be able to make it (football training) but maybe everyone interested could come to some consensus on a date and go from there.

Cheers

Mark
