BT Sport App Streaming

BT Sport App Streaming
Use my old mans BT account to watch on the PC or iPad but with Champs League and more Premiership games this season I am wanting to stream to the TV in the lounge.
Have a PS4 but no app. Seems to be lots of conflicting info online about whether it can be done with Apple TV, Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV. So is anyone here running it on these devices?
Thanks
Simon

Do you know if he agreed to pay the extra fiver for the BT Euro channel if not he'll have BT Lite and you wont be able to get it, sorry I cant help on the connection.
I can watch via the app which is always in HD which is nice, not that i've tried it but iof the TV has NFC cant you "throw" it from the phone as long as that is NFC as well ?

Not sure tbh but I am probably moving my broadband & phone from Sky to BT now as can finally get fibre in our cul de sac and some cracking cash back deals for BT at the mo.

Typo. PC = TV. Managed to blag a free Apple TV off my brother so will try that but moving to BT Infinity and opted for their basic TV box. Not sure it streams in HD though like the app does.

yes I had the same problem - had various input devices to the TV (XBOX / WII) that had WWW access but none seemed to be able to run the BT Sport App

I did the same as you Simon and ditched Sky and went for BT Infinity as soon as it became available in our area, it was like going from a pit pony to an Sti !
With regards to the extra fiver, it was more of an opt out than in situation, got an e-mail from BT in July advising they would raise the the price by £5 if we didn't want that we could retain the usual free channels by opting out and taking what they've called BT Lite, maybe your dad wasn't aware, they'll probably bill him an extra £5 per month from now on, if they don't then happy days

Get the Amazon fire stick, install Kodi or install Kodi onto your pc and link up to your TV. All TV is free. If sky and BT keep putting their prices up then that's what we will be doing.

Sky offered infinity 1 fibre but got a good cash back deal of £180 going to BT phone and BB and deal on infinity 1 unlimited 12mth contract for 12.50 a month including BT starter TV (the one that lets you stream and live pause but can't record).

No. He wishes Lives in North Cornwall and gets basic ADSL at about 2mb download as phone pairs are delivered old school via telegraph pole.

Got the BT Starter TV box coming but pretty sure that streams in SD. Also got a free Apple TV ver2 coming and hoping that just mirrors the BT Sport app on my iPad so can stream in HD. Will be interesting to compare the two.

Btw has anyone seen any of the games BT Sport broadcast in Ultra HD? Guessing very few have access to it so far and hard for pubs etc to implement as requires Infinity.

That's all well and good, but I find Kodi a bit hit and miss with regards to the sports channels

Our kid uses android and also has no problems.
Use the config wizard, they're always improving and it's much better than when it was called XBMC.

The only snag is that you need a minimum sync speed of 44meg. If you're on Infinity 1 you'll need to upgrade to Infinity 1.5.
