It was a bit of a bizarre ending. I think that Langer realised it would be better for them to bat out a few more overs, and then the match could have officially been ended. That's why Langer was asking Hayden "What do you want to do?". I don't think that everyone realised that if they took the light, they'd have to wait and see if the light got better, as there were so many overs remaining. In the end the umpires removing the bails was the best compromise they could come up with, rather than make everyone wait for anther hour or so.

I was well happy in any case.

Great result for England, they well deserved it too. Both teams should be congratulated for the good sportsmanship demonstrated throughout the series too. Outstanding cricket was played by both teams.

I think it would have been more exciting if England had declared earlier and given the Aussies an outsde chance of scoring the runs at maybe 10 per over. That would have been a much better finish.

Thanks god those endless weeks of that hobby they call a sport is finally over! 5 matches, only two teams in the whole competition with unathletic village green bumpkins sitting round supping tea between batting...zzzzz....
As for the public and media bandwagon jumping frenzy... OMFG... How did we qualify to get to this stage? Who did we beat to earn the right to challenge the prisoners?

God I cant wait for Germany 06, when teams from all around the world who have earnt the right to challenge for the FIFA World Cup get matters settled in a far more exciting sport which will be resolved in half the time...

And the footy wont interfere with Hollyoaks

I hate cricket
