Unhappy

So the alarm goes off as usual at 04.50, get out of bed for work and think I'll have a quick look at SS1 before I leave, all's well 60/1, put the kettle on came back to the lounge and its 67/4 , so into the car and R4 on LW is sounding like the usual acid trip and by the time I get to work Giles is trudging off, another thrilling test match involving England.

50 runs required, twitchy bum time

What annoys me is the radio and television stations carping on about the "usual england collapse" but hang on a chuffin minute haven't we just stuffed the Aussies and won our last 5 or 6 test match series?

No class the media eh , but to be honest the batting was **** poor, well done Jones, he nearly made it and then the 2 4's from Harmy there was still a bit of that "Ashes" hope.

It is amazing though how many teams just cant make 200 to win a test in the final innings you see it all the time as well as those that just stumble over the line, they do the hard work for 4 days they then see their target and the arsehioles start to tighten.

The Joy of Cricket, or not.....

Rioll on the 2nd test

I would have thought he would have reported Shoaib Akhtar as well, some of his ***** were chucked down the track, but the one that got Giles was like an arrow, lovely ball.

when he's good, he's very good. Problem is he has a planet sized ego....

There were all sorts of backroom chuntering going on when he played for worcs earlier in the summer....

It does seem as if its the usual middle order collapse but I seem to remember back in the summer the same thing happening and look what happened next. With Vaughan back for the next match I reckon that England will start to bat more calmly and start thinking more about building an innings instead of the run rate - we'll see.

The Sky situation does suck though.

Great catch from Bell, stuck at work again listening to the DAB then sprinting to the kitchen to see replays of anything worthwhile

It's about time Afridi chucked is wicket away, he should be gone within the hour hopefully ....

And whilst we're on the subject, what is the Sky coverage like? I haven't been able to bring myself to get Sky Sports given the brilliant coverage by C4 but what with the Rugby and Cricket on this channel I may have to go over to the dark side.

Just in time for the Pakistani spinners to do some damage, turn a flat track into a ploughed field, these boys have all the tricks but who needs them when we start donating wickets for fun, still I'll be up at 4 again tomorrow

It's time Pietersen and Freddie showed their class, and no more donating.

Hats off to Bell he has got his head down and done the biz, you can see why the selectors showed faith in him, he's getting there although big gob Boycott thinks Key would have been a better choice.

just as good as C4 IMO, along with 5 Live Xtra and R4 in the summer I couldn't believe how many ex test players were employed for the Ashes, but Sky have big names like Nasser, Beefy, Gower, Willis and Bumble etc, now if you could get a mix of the best of both channels, they do seem to have commentary changes every 20 minutes, or so it seems. I have noticed no Blowers on 5LX, probably pissed up somewhere muttering about model buses........

I like it - usually have the ref mike on as you get a good feel for the game. Also premiership matches get some coverage . Hardly watch any football these days.

Please pm me if you decide to sign up as I could do with the introducer's bonus

cheers
Steve

I already have normal Sky but being just down the road from you it may work. Alfridi banned for this test and a couple of one dayers - who says there isn't any justice although given the way England are going about this, you have to wonder why he bothered.

I was on about the Rugby, not the Football?
