Question Fastest sprinter in the Premiership

Who would compete in the race to be fastest sprinter in the Premier League??

Having a debate with a mate.

Thus far, we have

1. Thierry Henry
2. Aaron Lennon
3. Theo Walcott
4. Anthony Gardner
6. ?
6. ?
7. ?
8. ?

We need 4 more for the race....

He thinks Walcott would win, however I feel Henry's power as he is at his prime would win the day, especially between 60m and 100m. Walcott ran 11.5 at school. Henry, ran 10.7 last year.

Anthony Gardner I feel would give Henry a run for his money, if not beat him. He could have been an Olympic athlete like his brother, but chose football instead.

Any thoughts??

On a serious note its often defenders who have a fast turn of speed ..... are you talking 100mtrs or 30 yards?

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Craig Bellamy, who a season or so back, was rated as one of the EPL's fastest players. Mind, he's had plenty of practise running away from night club doormen and Alan Shearer...

He means sub 11. Anything below 10.5 is professional level for a sprinter. Henry is 200'ths of a second off that.

pmsl@louis saha maybe sub 11. i used to sprint at club and county level up and till a couple of years ago and all i could manage is 11.6 which i all accounts is quick i trained with a lad that could run 10.8 and he was ALOT faster than me would finish a good 10-15meters ahead of me.

the danish winger clames to run 10 flat which i find hard to believe, first off he's white and second if he could, why wasnt he at the olyimpics for denmark? not exactly renowed for its sprinting.i think theres alot of bull****, with hand timing for these times, can be the differance between 10.9 and 11.2 which is a huge game in the 100meters

Henry was on SoccerAMs 'Teammates' and he wasn't sure if Theo was faster than him as they hadn't 'raced' which probably means TW is
Mind you, TH would have 'im in the twisties....

You forgot about the Wombles' Jones & Wise double act, now they just could administer a good kicking

Djibril Cisse is definitely quick enough, just a shame he never looks about when he's on the ball

Milan Baros didn't hang about when he played for us either, he seems to have slowed down this season though
