I did see this and have to say how poor was he as a pro.
You just knew that he would go in like that when the ball broke loose.
Hope the FA do something about it. Also I'd take legal action as it is GBH.

Truly sickening.
If it doesn't result in a lengthy ban then there's something very wrong with the way the game is looked after in this country.

Rooney gets a 3 match ban for nothing.
So far we've had brown on Giggs and this which both only got a yellow card. the FA are a fukking joke!
Anybody also see how Dermot Gallgher missed the hand ball? 4 players in the box.... hand clearly punches the ball away. Ok maybe it's hard to tell as all the players had their hands up. Except the blokes hand that punches the ball clear is black and the other 3 guys are white. makes it pretty clear cut to me

I thought Browns challenge was bad enough but this was sick, and to make it worse he knew what he was doing, do him for assault Mendes, when you finally come round !!

He'll get a ban no two ways about that. Kind of made Cantona's kung fu kick look quite tame in comparison.
Hate how other team mates try to justify it. Can only assume that they will have changed their initial views (along with Stuart Pearce) when they see the tape.

Pearce wont saying anything about it publically, its not his style to bash his own players in public, you can be guarenteed he'll be sorting it out behind closed doors though.

Disgraceful challenge which i would say is a clear assault on Mendes on a seperate note it will be intresting to see if Thatcher now suffers the media feeding frenzy that followed after Essiens tackle last year or because he does not play for Chelsea it is not news worthy?

Discraceful. If Mendes's situation wasn't so serious I might have giggled about the physio accidently putting the boot in
In this case the police should throw the book at him and make an example of him - make him do time. That isn't his first offence

The only challenge I remember being worse than that was on Arteta last year, cant remember who Everton were playing, must have been a champions league qualifier or something, definately a foriegn team. He went in with his knee straight into his back on purpose at some pace.
edit - OK wasnt his knee, was his elbow again right into his spine. Dynamo Bucharest...

Ben Thatcher`s a c*nt, and for that assault he needs banning for a long time. I`ve had a soft spot for City since Pearce took over, what with him being one of my all time heroes, but in all honesty I now feel that if they don`t publically come out and condem that challenge and also throw their own book at Thatcher, then I hope they get relegated

In the last 94 threads you've started, its all been about football. Oh I almost forgot, 1 thread in October 2004 about stickers. What did you have made, a Ronaldo decal for the rear screen of your car ?
Not one of your post's has anything what so ever to do with Subaru's.
Oh I forgot to mention, I was having a joke with you, and about what you have said on the post, you have mail.

Considering the threads hes started about football have been in the sports section. You can hardly talk because all the posts Ive seen of yours in the sports section have nothing to do with talking sports, just slagging off sports. go play with your knocklink

All I did was remark on how pathetic football has become, and ive been slated and insulted from it. Now surely any football fan cannot disagree with what ive said, unless there too young to remember what football used to be like upto the early 90's.
If your a football fan, tell me honestly if im wrong and i'll shut up for good about it.
Some people just cant accept that slagging off football on a forum of all places is acceptable. There just no passion, honour, honesty, gamesmanship, no nothing anymore, all there bothered about are there Ferraris and mansions.
You watch a Sunday league match down at your local field, at least you get 100% from the players, even when hung-over.

Your right, top level football has become **** ever since the premiership start, its become more about money but ever since the players were earning for playing the value of it has been going up, its just it silly heights at the minute. Try going to a lower league match, you might see more passion etc. If I wanted to watch sunday league Id have to quit playing it, trust me you dont always get 100% from them, hung over or not
We all know the level of the game is nothing like it used to be but your not exactly contributing anything to these boards yourself.
